Villa Blanca - Beautiful Open Air Penthouse in Playa Los Muertos w/ Maid service

Villa Blanca is a charming open-air penthouse apartment in Zona Romantica, think Swiss Family Robinson but with bedroom A/C and better restaurants. This retro Mediterranean-style 3-bedroom 3.5-bath apartment sleeps up 6 people (or 7 including a child) comfortably and offers views of Banderas Bay, It’s one block to the beach, beautiful Playa Los Muertos, and just a few minutes walk to Puerto Vallarta’s best restaurants and bars. Enjoy both proximity to the town and the beach. Condo includes daily maid service.

There are three air conditioned master bedroom suites, all with king-sized beds and private, en suite bathrooms. Two have private balconies and the third has a day bed. The open air living room, kitchen, and dining room offer a huge space for entertaining and enjoying the view. A rooftop terrace just above the unit provides wider views and sunbathing as well. A dipping pool and outdoor shower on the first floor are communal for the building and great way to wash off after the beach. Designed by Mexican architect Diego Mendez de las Penas, know as the “Baby Grand” or “Wedding Cake”, this one-of-a-kind building will inspire you.

Note that the 1st floor (where the pool is) is up several steps from the street and the Penthouse is up a few more flights from there so the layout may not be ideal for the elderly or disabled.

Zona Romantica is the older, most charming area of Puerto Vallarta with cobblestone streets and orange roofs. The beach just below the condo is beautiful Playa Los Muertos. Also, like everywhere in ZR construction is rampant, including near the beach and down our block. Generally any noise is rather distant. They also don't work in the evenings and very little on the weekends.

Gorgeous open-air view of the ocean
The property’s 3 bedroom suites accommodated our group of 3 couples. The open-air living area is unique with a great view of the ocean. A housekeeper visits six days. That was a nice feature. PV has a high noise level from loud music, people partying, new construction and road noise. This particular street was quiet at night (after 11 pm) but somewhat noisy during the day from construction and music playing at nearby Blue Chairs. The bedrooms’ doors and sound machines blocked most of the daytime noise. The open-air living area is unique with a lovely view of the ocean. We had a few issues surface. Even though the property owner couldn’t immediately fix all of them he was always responsive and thoughtful. The wifi was either inoperable or spotty at best, which was frustrating. I’m hoping it’s been fully addressed for future guests. The unit’s overall “fit and finish” is not great. It didn’t impact our stay but the place didn’t look as nice as it could have. Finally, the 75 unavoidable steps to the unit’s door are no joke. We were all 55+ and found the steps challenging. I was fully aware of the steps but I developed severe hip arthritis in the last few months and sometimes struggled to get up and down them. Getting the luggage up the stairs was hard. If you have any lower-body or walking issues, this place isn’t for you. Otherwise, you’ll get a bonus “step” workout every time you return to the unit. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

This Open Environment layout was fun for many reasons. The mornings are filled with birdsong and fly bys. The hummingbirds were busy in the blooms of the healthy flowerpots and shrubs. The breeze with the Ocean waves and view offers refreshing salt air and a great experience. We arrived the day after the hurricane. No air or electricity, but it was fine. Glamping is a word i would use for a stay under these conditions. Once the electricity was back on, the whole week flew by quickly. October is still pretty warm in PV, the sun sets around 6:30P. The rooms are air conditioned and well appointed. The living space is mostly shaded, and very private. The pool is always ready to welcome you for a cooling dip. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. Will is a great host, and his staff are always nearby to assist if you need it.

This stunningly beautiful apartment, with a breathtaking panoramic view, was perfect for 4 adults. The AC in each well-soundproofed bedroom made sleeping a dream, and the gorgeously-landscaped, open-air living space, well-appointed kitchen, and pool allowed us to enjoy the tropical breezes while we socialized.

What a great place to stay. the open-air architecture was a new experience for us and was very enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again. Perfect for our family of five but would provide plenty of room for three couples as well. We made good use of the dipping pool as well as the rooftop deck. The bedrooms stayed nice and cool with the AC units in them. Oh, and the little deck off of the master was a nice place to get some quiet time and read. Wonderful experience.

We've visited the area many times before, but had never noticed this building before. Tucked up the hill a few (well maybe a few more than a few lol) is an amazing spot with a fantastic view. Great location, communication and price. We will definitely go back.

What a great place!
This place was exactly what we were looking for for a group trip. Easily accommodates a group of adults looking for a comfortable place. It's in a great location, walking distance to everything, but also really easy to grab an uber or taxi if you want to go somewhere else. The location is the south end of zona romantica, all the bars and restaurants were within a 10 min walk. The beach is a block away, we found Swell to be a great beach bar to grab some drinks at. The pool felt like our own pool, we didn't really see any other travelers staying while we were there. It was warm and clean and we spent a decent amount of time in there as a group. We only cooked breakfast and didn't explore the kitchen too much, but looked like there was everything there that you would need. The only thing we found was that the bedrooms aren't overly sound proof and we were woken up most mornings with maintenance and construction across the street. All the rooms have white noise machines though. I would highly recommend this place!

Beautiful penthouse condo in the heart of the Zona Romantica, 1 block from Playa de Los Muertos
We received a helpful detailed info packet from the owner a week before traveling to PV. We arrived before checkin time but texted our contact and he met us early and helped us take up our luggage to the condo we could go enjoy the beach until checkin. The Villa Blanca building is beautiful. The penthouse is spacious, clean and charming with the open concept living/dining/kitchen. The bedrooms are large with comfortable beds. The location of the condo is great, near the beach and walking distance to the delicious restaurants in Old Town, the Saturday Market, small grocery stores, and Playa de Los Muertos pier. The condo owner was extremely responsive when the washer/dryer were not working and arranged an alternative for us. Zona Romantica is a lively and fun area of PV and you can hear music from two nearby clubs at night, but the music typically shuts down by 11pm, on holidays 12am. We would absolutely stay at Villa Blanca again!

This is a wonderful property. We were here for six weeks and over that time, had some of our family stay with us. The property is amazing - lots of room, close to everything, quiet and the most amazing view. Lots of exercise up and down stairs, but that is good. Will was very easy to talk to , and overall a fabulous time! Would give this property a five star.

Very spacious, great open-air ambiance. Super maid service. Beautiful views from living room deck and rooftop area. On the minus side, you must climb 75 or so steps to access this condo. Not that easy if you’re a senior hauling luggage or groceries. Water pressure was feeble.

Great condo for PV stay
We loved our stay and Villa Blanca! It was as described and the location was great. The open air concept of the living area was wonderful and the view was amazing. Maid service was consistent and we felt an instant bond with the other people staying in the building......many of which were full time residents. They were helpful in giving us the "lay of the land". We will hopefully stay here again. Note to the owner/manager: The water pressure in the back bedroom shower was quite poor. Perhaps the shower head needs cleaning?

We have been coming to Puerto Vallarta for 8+ years now and know this Amapas neighborhood works really well for us. A short walk (1 block) from the beach, quiet away from the clubs within old town, and able to hear the waves crash. And this condo lived up to all of those things. Pre trip questions and answers were super easy. Carlos met us easily upon arrival with simple WhatsApp coordination. Up the flight of stairs to the common building entry, patio and plunge pool reveals seasonal neighbor owners who are just delightful folks. Up all of 2 floors in the spacious pent house. The open air living and dining is comfortable… and the zen of those crashing waves is exactly why you’d book, which is how our mornings started - coffee in hand from the appointed kitchen. Bedrooms and en suites were as described with super comfy beds and ample fans, breezy balcony’s and air con for evenings. Daily service kept everything well cared for along the way. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot.

Rained and roof leaked on master bedroom bed and floor. Manager said nothing he could do. Brno hung up on us 7 TIMES as we tried to work out a refund and new location. Property owner finally gave us only 50 % refund. Would I use VRBO again? When he’ll freezes over!

The pictures do not do this space justice! having travelled to PV for a number of years, I understand the importance of location. Will's space was close to the beach, down the street from restaurants and a short walk to nightlife. The open concept was perfect to watch the sunset and hangout with friends. The bedrooms were spacious too! I can not wait to stay here again!

Villa Blanca Penthouse vacation
We (me, husband and four adult children) stayed a week at this property and the location was perfect for accessing the beach, local restaurants and many activities. Loved the penthouse location and rooftop patio. Kitchen was great for breakfast and daily use. Would definitely recommend the penthouse on Amapas to any one wanting to stay in the area. The owner sent an informational packet prior to our arrival that was very helpful but the property manager was non-existent. I received his cell number for any questions I had but he rarely responded and I never saw him until we were getting in our cab to return to the airport. Awesome place to stay if you don’t require any assistance with your stay.

Il n’y avait personne pour nous accueillir pas de clé fonctionnel pour ouvrir la porte d’entrée. Heureusement qu’un des propriétaires est venu à notre rescousse pour nous ouvrir et aider avec nos bagages puisqu’il y a plusieurs marches pour se rendre au peunthouse. Le personnel dont Julio et Angelina la femme de ménage et la préscence et la bienveillance des gardiens de nuits font un excellent travail pour rendre notre séjour agréable.
