Cons - we got to the property around 8pm and no reception was there. A guest helped us call the manager. After 20 mins, he finally came out and told us we'd have to move to the mountain room, even though we booked the beachfront room, and did not give us a proper reason ('oh we forgot the Expedia password, etc'). It was much smaller and only had 1 double bed, and we were 3 people. We asked for an extra mattress at least but they didn't have one. After a while, they said we can actually take the beachfront room! We shifted to the room, and saw the TV was on and a beer cap was left - we figured the staff were actually using the room and hence tried to put us in the other room. They made us switch rooms again the next day to another beachfront room, without a proper reason. So glad we had a Thai friend with us, or we may not have even gotten a room! The service was basically non-existant, even ordering a Songtheow (car) ended up in confusion and lots of waiting. The facilities are old, some beds are hard as wood, the door of our 2nd room wouldnt close properly and the toilet flush stopped working towards the end. Pros - it was clean, breakfast was very good (noodles, congee, or English breakfast options) and the room was 2 steps from a beautiful beach, but still close to the more crowded Vang Dueng area with lots of restaurants and activities. Tip: there's a secret trail that takes you there directly from the resort next door (3-5 mins walk) - ask the staff there!

Little paradise
The perfect place! We had a beach front bungalow, just amazing view! Comfortable bed, clean shower and toilet. The beach with crystal clear water is 10 meter from your door step ! The restaurant is really good with pretty cheap price and the owner is lovely! I would definitely go back there!!

Nice location
Nice location and view from balcony. Good food. Room basic, small and not very nicely furnished. Bathroom smells bad. Curtains mouldy. Shower sprays over the entire bathroom so constant issue with wet bathroom floor. Staff friendly but do not remove rubbish and plastic bottles etc from their beach so do not care too much for the environment. Owner actually hits golf balls off beach into the sea so totally ignorant of the fact that he is adding even more plastic into our oceans. Very sad. Nice location though but much of koh samet ruined by bad development.

Paradise
I can't recommend this place highly enough, it's quiet and gave us the piece and quiet we needed to recharge our batteries. The staff are wonderful, the food delicious, the small each clean and has a small coral reek on the left hand side. Nothing was too much trouble, and as a surprise a cake was made from fried bananas and ice cream, for my friends Birthday. Hope to return soon.

Lovely and relaxing
The resort is small and basic, but clean with the most friendly and helpful staff. There is an excellent little restaurant and everything is directly on a small, uncrowded and peaceful beach.

Great Quiet Beach Resort
If you want a nice quiet relaxing Resort stay then this is the place. Onsite restaurant has good food at good prices. Our Beachfront room was perfect except the beds are typically rock hard. Small beach right in front & the warm water was crystal clear. Went to the main beach with lots of of resorts & too crowded with day visitors. Easy to get there by speedboat for 250-350 baht each way to the Resort.

Serious mosquito problem!
Nice quiet beach, but we were eaten alive by mosquitoes in the room, even despite never leaving the door open. We were allowed to change rooms but it was just as bad. There should be mosquito nets at least. Avoid.

quiet and face to the beach.awesome view
The accommodation in samet island is expensive. How ever this is the cheap price resort in the island, I think i can't request more. The location is far away from the public pier ,Koh Samet Na Dan Pier. There are no public transport in the Island. only can rent motor bike or call taxi. But we can't drive and would like save money .we choose walk to the resort . We walked around 1hr to arrive the resort. At night time is quite dark, 2 dogs fellow us walking for a while. So .....Walk is Not recommended .U can rent a motor bike (the road not easy drive),or taxi or u can jet boat from pier to the beach directly ,it would be most save time but spend money. Service was good, we arrive at 10pm . the staff waited us for check-in . breakfast included 7:30an-9:30am.The room is simple but lot of sand. I don't like the towel blanket. It was heavy rain during night, was no electricity connection for over an hour.It was hot and terrible feeling save .seems No any light at the island. Staff are friendly. The restaurant at next is good and reasonable price. Recommended , if u can drive good in motor bike or taxi.

Beautiful beach bungalow but needs a little love
Fantastic location for a peaceful break. The resort is adjacent to several similar resorts. The sand was white and the sea crystal clear and the temperature of bath water. I stayed in bungalow K1. The bungalow from the outside is stunning, however, the inside definitely requires some love and attention. The main issues were the lack of mosquito gate on the front door (believe me they are abundant here) which meant you either had to keep the door closed, or have them biting you constantly. There is also no bed sheet, which I was used to throughout the rest of my travels through Thailand. There were instead woolly blankets, which seemed both a little unhygienic and an odd choice considering it was 34 degrees outside. A simple sheet would have been much more appropriate. The owners were wonderful and welcoming. Although they spoke limited English, they tried very hard to be helpful and provide tips.

Very scenic quiet beach
The beach front was lovely, quiet and unspoilt. The property was basic as expected which was fine until the water ran out mid shampoo. It stated daily clean and although we only stayed 3 nights it was not cleaned or had fresh towels. We asked for water but was told it was only free on the first day and were also charged for a second cup of coffee at breakfast which was a bit pathetic. It was hard work getting any info. out of the guy on the info. desk and a smile wouldn't have gone amiss. However the swimming & view was great with only a short walk to the next beach for more facilities.

On the beach
This is the most adorable secluded beach bungalow. You can't ask for more. The rooms are basic and don't come with much. They were doing renovations to their patio on the beach so I'm sure once that's done this place will be even better. You are on a small cove of the island and there's not many other bungalows. There were multiple times we were the only ones on the beach, which felt amazing. There's a few restaurants along the water and they had great food. The resort will call you a taxi if you want to go downtown to the lively part. We took a walk to another part of the island and it looked and felt like resort central. People everywhere and just loaded with tourists. It made us thankful for our peace and quiet side of the island. I highly recommend this place! Your journey to get there will also be highly entertaining!

Poor value for the money ...
We booked for 6 nights but we stayed only 5, very old and noisy room, cleaning room every 2 days!, "jungle view", very dirty surrounding, poor breakfast. ..The little beach up front made some good points, the stuff is friendly but i can tell it's not their job serving tourists...i wouldn't stay there again. (By the way koh Samet was a bit disappointed, the whole island is too pricey )

A great, relaxing hotel with great ocean views
This was a great little hotel right on the beach with ocean views from all units. The views from all units seemed to differentiate it from other resorts on other beaches and it is nice just to sit on the comfortable bed or balcony and enjoy the view. A lot of the other resorts have a few more expensive units with good views but other units with no view. So it's hard to go wrong here. I had a mountain unit (which are individual units with no common walls and mostly made with concrete). The jungle rooms are wood buildings and share a wall with an adjoining unit, so you have slightly more privacy with the mountain and beach front units. The breakfasts were fairly basic, but that is pretty normal. The other food I had at the resort was very reasonable and pretty good. It's an easy 5 minute walk to the next beach to the north if you want more food choices and a different beach atmosphere. The staff was very nice and helpful as well. To get there I'd recommend taking a speed boat White Shark (and I believe Black Pearl) has direct speed boat connections to that beach. Otherwise it is a bit of a taxi ride (and hike down the hill) from the main pier. Overall, it was a great and relaxing stay, I extended a day and wished I had more time to spend there. The small beach and patio provide great sunning spots. The beach has some rocks but not too many and it is easy to get in a nice swim if the waves aren't too rough, with the beach sloping off very gradually. I hope to be back soon.

Could be better.
This is guest house and not a hotel. Bungalows are nice and all sea facing. This bay is not so pretty. Walk over to Ao Wai for a beautiful beach. Wi-fi is only available in the restaurant and for a limited time. There is no daily room service whatsoever (only 2 bottles of water). Room was never cleaned for 6 nights I stayed there. Even fresh towels were not provided when requested. Taxi to and from is super expensive 300-350 baht. Walk over to the next beach, Ao Wongdean, and it's only 200 baht. You can walk all the way to Ao Phai along beach path in 25 minutes though. That being said, it was a nice place to stay.
