I was having a good experience with the hotel as the staff was friendly and area was quiet, until the last night when I found black mold on the air vents of the air conditioning unit. If I had seen it earlier I would have demanded a new room or a full refund. I only came upon it because I went to put a pair of jeans near by on the chair to air out before I wore it the next morning to the airport. Also I do recall coughing a couple nights prior, but blamed it on the cold weather.
I spoke to the staff attendant when I checked out and he said he couldn't give me a refund as I booked my stay through a third party. I responded by saying that I would be writing to their corporate office. When my health is on the line in the case of pure negligence to clean the vents I really don't want a free future booking I want a full refund to my card. To think I took out insurance for this stay thinking about all other risk possibilities other than exposure to black mold.
