Sea view rooms are excellent. Host - very helpful
Manolis and his wife are very good hosts. "What can I do to help you?" is frequently asked. Sea view room is lovely. Nice pool with good sunbeds. Room is very comfortable with air con, free wifi and a much appreciated fridge. Lovely sunsets. Good breakfast served 8am to 10am. Cereals, bread, cheese, ham, yoghurt, cakes, coffee, organge juice etc. Best side of road for beach - avoids very busy road. We took bus from Chania airport direct to Rethymno. Left luggage at bus station for a few hours while we explored town and then headed out to Scaleta. Buses run every 30 mins or so from Rethymno. 20-30 mins depending on traffic. Get off bus at the Scaleta Market below the Oasis Hotel and next to Hotel Gortyna. On the other side of the road is the Creta Star (big hotel) and the Hotel Babis. Exit the bus and facing the sea walk a little to your right and you will find a small underpass - the roof is low so you may have to bend over if 6 foot or over. Alternatively walk further to your right and you will find a large underpass which buses can use. Once through the small underpass turn right again past the car rental etc. Or if using the larger tunnel turn left. Bus fare from town is 1.80 euro. Going back into town walk along to the Creta Star and you will find bus stop. Buy tickets at shop beforehand. Valid all day, any day so you can stock up. Good local shops with essentials and souveniers/alcohol etc. A few restaurants nearby.

I really enjoyed the staff very helpful and kind. The pool was nice a beach is close but very rocky and extremely strong waves in late August. Only thing I didnā€™t really like was the shower. For a plus size woman the shower was to small. But overall a very pleased stay šŸ˜

Very basic. No kettle in room to make coffee etc. Great people running it. Very friendly and helpful. Nice atmosphere. Pool good and 3 minutes to the beach.! Fine for a night or two.

Great Place!!!
This place was very accomodating and everyone was incredibly friendly. I would recommend it for families, couples and singles. They offered breakfast with homegrown figs and a buffet dinner which was incredibly convenient. It is very close to the beach! This was a great place to stay and a great experience.

Great value! The room was basic and not the most comfortable but the balcony with an ocean view was so lovely and made up for it. The swimming pool was very nice and the ocean was a few minutes walk away.

Kleines, familiƤres Hotel etwa 10 Minuten von Rethymno entfernt. Ein Mietwagen ist Pflicht, wenn man nicht nur einen Hotelurlaub verbringen will. Das Hotel liegt zwar direkt am Strand, allerdings war das Baden fĆ¼r uns dort unmƶglich wegen der groƟen Steine im Wasser. Der Strand ist aber sehr sauber. Das Hotel hat einen sehr schƶnen Pool. Sehr freundlicher Gastgeber. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Sauberkeit und tƤgliche Reinigung der Zimmer. Das FrĆ¼hstĆ¼ck ist sehr einfach gehalten. Alles in allem ein sehr nettes Hotel in freundlicher AtmosphƤre. Ich empfehle es definitiv weiter!

Nous avons passĆ© 10jours dans cet hotel. Suite Ć  un retard de 4h d'avion nous sommes arrivĆ©s juste aprĆØs minuit , accueil tardif expĆ©ditif. Mais apres cela , bon sĆ©jour , personnel sympathique , litterie assez confortable , super balcon avec une super vue sur la mer. Petit dĆ©jeunĆ© plutĆ“t bien mais personne n'y mange le midi ou le soir ( pas de restaurant , ils proposent juste une salade ou une pizza ). Peacefull and quite
Hotel Babis is familyrun hotel with a peacefull garden and kind owner. Mr. Manolis and his family try to do their best for the customers. Babis is about 10 km far from Retymnon, and a good choice to explore the area. They have a huge rubber tree in the garden and comfortable hammocks. The beach is very close and you can listen the waves if your room have seaview. Recommended.

Good Price and good location for a relaxing 5 days
The hotel and location is very good if you are looking for a place to relax and just enjoy some good time, either on the pool-side or on the beach. Close to the beach, 300m, nice beach bar with good food and drinks. Breakfast and dinner good and simple at the hotel. Very friendly hotel-host and we can really recommend this. Good value!

Ein super schƶner Urlaub in einem 2 Sterne Hotel. Wir haben uns sehr wohl und gut betreut gefĆ¼hlt! Wir kommen gerne wieder. Von der Ausstattung her sicherlich ein einfaches Hotel, was uns jedoch bewusst war. Das Hotel Ć¼berzeugt durch bei einfacher Ausstattung durch Freundlichkeit und Sauberkeit. Das Hotel liegt ruhig und auƟerhalb des normalen Tourismus.

Hotel bardzo zaniedbany, stary. W pokoju karaluchy. Śniadanie masakra. Za każdym razem gdy wracaliśmy do hotelu nasz pokĆ³j był otwarty. W hotelu ciagle był hałas, bardzo słychać trzaskanie drzwi. LodĆ³wka w pokoju popsuta.

El hotel estĆ” muy buen situado para pasar una vacaciones de playa. A 15 minutos en coche de la ciudad de Rethymnon, que es preciosa. A 2 minutos andando de la playa. Perfecta ubicaciĆ³n para hacer algunas excursiones de un dĆ­a a otras playas y lugares de interĆ©s. El personal del hotel muy atento y agradable. El desayuno normalito. FaltarĆ­a una tostadora.

Insomma...
Forse siamo arrivati troppo tardi, dopotutto siamo stati gli ultimi clienti della stagione, ma l'albergo ci e' sembrato "abbandonato". La posizione ottima per la vicinanza alla spiaggia, ma rovinata per la vicinanza alla superstrada. Se ci andate chiedete assolutamente camera fronte mare per non rimane svegli per il traffico notturno.
