Spacious Modern Villa with Pool and Amazing View!

Villa Gaia Modern is a brand-new house built in 2018. The villa is suitable both for​ families and groups of people who want to have unforgettable​ vacations in Crete. It is situated in a quiet area in the village Skouloufia, 18km away from Rethymno. The villa is built in two floors layout. It has two yards, a barbecue area and a private parking. The house has four verandas overall, one of them in front of the pool, where the guests can relax and enjoy their food or drink along with the beautiful view to the sea and the town of Rethymno, but also to the countryside and the mountain Psiloritis. It is suitable for up to 8 people. There are four bedrooms, all with ​view to the sea.​ Two of the bedrooms have double​ beds and the other two have two twin beds each. All of the bedrooms have access to the verandas. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious​ dining and living room with fireplace and a smart Sat-TV. The house has two bathrooms, one of them equipped with a jacuzzi​. Around the villa, there are many villages with tavernas, mini markets, gas stations and pharmacies nearby, as well as many historical sightseeings like the Arcadi Monastery and the archaeological site and the museum of the Ancient Eleytherna. Amazing Villa
This is a beautiful villa, very modern and perfect for a family holiday. The pool isn’t too deep and is the same depth throughout so perfect for children. The views from the villa are stunning and we would recommend staying in this villa. The owner is also lovely and very helpful if you need anything.

Lovely stay and exceptional hosts
We were a party of two families, four adults and four teenage children. The property is around 20 minutes from the coast and cars are a must but this was perfect for us as we prefer to stay in quieter areas. The pool is great and would be ideal for younger children too as it is not too deep and all one level. The villa is modern but traditionally furnished and well equipped. The beds are quite firm which was fine for most of us, but one has a bad back and found the bed too hard. However the hosts went above and beyond and sourced a mattress topper for us. Zacharias and his family are wonderful hosts, very welcoming and happy to help with any questions. On arrival they had prepared a delicious meal for us and a homemade cake . It was very special and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Fabulous Break
A beautiful late September week for 2 to recharge and our first post-Covid trip. Great weather and a very comfortable place to relax in. We mainly cooked for ourselves and the villa has most of what you need with supermarkets in Stavromenos 10 minutes back down the road. The wifi is fast enough that you won't notice any issues and Netflix and Amazon Prime are available on the Smart TV (you will need your own subscription though). Swimming pool was refreshing and the local cats very cute! The owner Zacharias was simply the best. An extremely tasty dinner was waiting for us on arrival and he dropped in with a couple of other treats during the week and was always available on the end of the phone to answer any queries. Thank you for all your help! If you need a rapid antigen test for return travel then numerous places are available in Rethymno and the process is simple at approx €25 per person. It felt so good to sit with a glass of Cretan wine and watch the superb sunset from the upper balcony and remember the joys of travelling. Highly recommended location, villa and owner! Just book it!

Amazing vacation
We stayed at the villa for 6 days and cannot recommend it enough. Zacharias is a very friendly and pleasant person and an amazing host. We received a warm welcome, even though we arrived late at night. He had even written us a card, to congratulate us because we recently got married. He checked in with us several times while we were there. The villa is spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. The view is just wonderful and the surroundings are peaceful. We spent a lot of time by the pool, just enjoying the sun and the villa. We will definitely be back.

WONDERFUL PROPERTY :) would return in a heartbeat.
We had a fantastic stay in this wonderful property. Incredible! From start to finish we could not have asked for better hosts or better accommodation. Our flights were delayed and the host waited for us at the property to welcome us. And welcomed us with the most delicious food that his mom had cooked for us! what a start to the holiday!! We were 2 families holidaying together , 3 adults and 5 children age (17,14,6,4,4) and the villa was just ideal for us. 4 perfect bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and dining room/kitchen/lounge, 2 big upstairs terraces (great views of the countryside down to the sea) and ample outdoors space with seating areas dotted around, some in sun and some in shade, to relax in, read a book, enjoy your coffee, etc. Little play area for the children outside to keep them occupied. The pool was clean and enjoyably cool for the hot weather. the location was great, in the countryside so that we had peace and quiet, only the sounds of the sheep passing by, and as we had cars, was easily accessible for us, in face great as we could get to the main road (chania to heraklion) easily for our day trips.went to different beaches every morning and then spent the afternoon at he pool and out for dinner in the evening. could not have asked for nicer accommodation for our holiday. I give a 5 star rating as thats what it deserves and I would recommend this property (and the hosts) to everyone!

Excellent Villa and Host in a peaceful location
We can honestly say that our stay in the Villa surpassed all expectations. We were two families with 7 adults and it was a perfect size. We arrived in the early hours after a delayed flight and Zacharias and his father were there to greet us with wonderful basket of local produce, a fridge stocked with drinks and a home-cooked meal. This attention to our needs continued throughout the holiday with various food packages arriving over our two week stay. The ice creams were delicious as were his mothers home-cooked pies. The location is peaceful and a car is essential as the nearest shop is about 10 mins away. The views were incredible with gorgeous sunsets every night. The villa is well equipped with very efficient air conditioning. There is plenty of space indoors and out for everyone to feel relaxed. The pool area has sunbeds, recliners, parasols so shade and comfort is great. In terms of things to do, we recommend the Paraschakis Olive Oil producers, who offer a short tour and tasting. The Arkadi Monastery is both beautiful and fascinating. Local beaches are good but snorkelling is better in the South. We like Damnoni Beach in particular. Rethymon Old Town is great (park at the Marina). We also visited Chania, Knossos (opens at 8am get there early if it's hot) and Heraklion, all within just over an hour's drive. All in all, this was a fantastic holiday. In our many stays at various villas we've never experienced such generous hospitality. You will definitely enjoy a stay at this Villa.

We've not used homeaway before so were a little apprehensive but Zacharias was super welcoming. His villa was amazing. Large, but not too large and an amazing pool. It was quiet and relaxing, about 20 mins from. Rythemno (btw - park on by the marina for a 10 min walk to the old town). Everything was perfect, kitchen fully equipped and multiple terraces to enjoy alfresco dining. We have to say that the hospitality was amazing - and we fully recommend coming to stay here!

Charming and peaceful villa with excellent host
We have just returned from an eleven night stay at the lovely Villa Gaia modern. Located in the quiet hills the Villa provides a peaceful sanctuary for relaxation where the only interruptions are the sound of crickets (or the laughter of my six year old twins as they play in the pool!). The villa itself is fairly isolated, making car hire essential. But the location has lovely views and provided a perfect base for exploring the island; it is not far from a range of archaeological and natural places of interest (Arkadi monestery, melidoni cave) and 10 minutes drive to a local supermarket. Only recently completed the Villa is modern with some traditional Greek touches. An immaculate outdoor space includes a good size pool and play area which is spacious and was perfect for our group of seven people. Facilities in the property were excellent with everything provided from a hairdryer and pool inflatables to a regular cleaning service (with fresh towels and bedding provided regularly during our stay). Our host , Zacharias was exceptional and genuinely cared that we had a great holiday. He provided a wonderful welcome basket full of basic groceries and Cretan delights (including homemade jam and wine) for our arrival and we were particularly thankful for the gifts of sour cherry compot and homemade pies during the stay. I highly recommend the villa and should we go back to Crete, we would definitely return to Villa Gaia modern.

Amazing villa, great holiday!!
We had a lovely 2 week stay at Villa Gaia Modern, it’s a fantastic villa which has just been finished (we were the first to stay there) and we couldn’t have asked for more from the villa itself and the owners who were great from the off and throughout our stay. They even brought around a homemade Greek lunch for us at the end of the first week, we had Moussaka with Greek salad and vanilla ice cream with a cherry compote, all homemade by the owner herself and using their own produce; was lovely, one of the best meals we had! The owner’s were brilliant and were in contact prior to our holiday to check our arrival time and to meet us at the villa and show us around. They genuinely seemed to want to make sure that we had a great stay and told us that we could phone or text anytime if we needed anything. They had also kindly left us a welcome basket filled with homemade cake and jam, coffee, biscuits and alcohol, and the fridge was stocked with water, beer, juice, fruit, ham, cheese, bread and butter - all the essentials. The villa itself was also really well equipped with everyday necessities such as washing up liquid, tea towels, toilet roll, foil, bin bags etc, even laundry detergent and fabric softener. The villa itself is just up in to the hills a little away from the hustle and bustle and is very peaceful, this does make a car essential but we would recommend this anyway to explore the many beaches and historical sites on the island. The villa is decorated to a very high standard and has obviously been styled with great care, it really is lovely. It has air conditioning in every room and some great views out from the villa. Also for those that are more security conscious there are electric shutters on all the windows in the villa, so whilst a very quiet and safe area, it just adds that extra peace of mind. The pool area was lovely and was really child friendly, very clean and the surrounding pool area is beautiful, again finished to a very high standard, with plenty of sun beds and umbrellas, its also very private as you’re not overlooked by anyone. There were two inflatables left for us which our daughter was really impressed with. There was also a small area with a child’s table and chairs and various outdoor games, which was a nice touch. Also there are lovely flowers / grounds to the rest of the villa which are very well kept. All in all a fantastic stay and would highly recommend.

Splendide ! Villa Gaia une valeure sûre !
Maison idéalement placée pour visiter l'ile. La maison de Zacharias est extrêmement confortable avec un équipement complet pour toute la famille. On s y sent très bien. Tout y est et si vous avez besoin de quoi que ce soit vous pouvez compter sur Zacharias. Il est au petit soins pour vous. La maison est décorée avec grand soin, "comme dans les magazines" . Elle est très lumineuse en journée. Les lumières extérieures et intérieures illuminent la maison le soir. L'hygiene est impeccable. Maison adaptée pour personne à mobilité réduite. mon papa est resté au rez de chaussée dans la chambre du bas. Il a fait le tour exterieur de la maison car adaptée pour le fauteuil. La climatisation est dans toutes les pièces si besoin. Les pièces sont vastes. Plusieurs terrasses à l étage permettent de se poser et d admirer le paysage mer et montagne. L'accueil de Zacharias est exemplaire. Gentillesse , douces attentions sont au rendez-vous. Sa maman nous a cuisiné de bons plats pour notre arrivée. Bref,aucune hésitation vous faites le bon choix en réservant la villa gaia.

Wir wurden freundlich mit einem leckeren Abendessen empfangen. Das Haus war einfach perfekt! Sauber, modern eingerichtet, mit liebevollen kleinen Details. Jedes Zimmer lädt zum Verweilen ein. Der Außenbereich und der Pool waren herrlich. Jeden Abend konnten wir einen zauberhaften Sonnenuntergang genießen. Unsere Gastgeber waren freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt! incredible Villa with super friendly host
The villa is as advertised. Everything you need and more is available in the villa. The pool is nice and you have an incredible view of the sunset. One thing that impressed me the most was the hospitality of the host. The host's mother cooked a whole meal for us (7 people!) free of charge because we arrived late in the afternoon and she was afraid we wouldn't have anything to eat. I have never experienced anything like that at a holiday destination. For my birthday, Mr. Zacharias even bought some sweets. Again, super friendly! He didn't have to do that. I appreciated that very much. I can only recommend the villa and Mr Zacharias. Cheers Arne

Fantastique et excellent
Un paradis sur l'île ! Des hôtes d'une gentillesse et d'une délicatesse exceptionnelles qui nous ont attendus et accueillis en pleine nuit avec le repas préparé et des cadeaux de bienvenue de leur production personnelle. La maison est magnifique, à l'image des photos, spacieuse, romantique où rien ne manque pour permettre de se sentir chez soi. La piscine est sans vis à vis et très agréable. Les conseils de visite, de restaurant prodigués par les propriétaires égalent leur générosité. Un merveilleux séjour qui nous laisse des étoiles plein les yeux. Sehr erholsam und ruhig
Ganz netter und herzlicher Vermieter . Wir kamen sehr spät an und ich fand es so unglaublich nett, denn der Vermitter hatte für und Esssen vorbereitet. Das hatte ich noch nirgends erlebt und spiegelt einfach die Herzlichkeit und Gastfreundlichkeit wider, die uns auf Kreta entgegen gebracht wurde. Die Betten waren für mich etwas zu hart aber das ist Meckern auf hohem Niveau Alles in Allem war es ein schöner, super erholsamer Urlaub. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Awesome place - Spacious, comfortable, beautiful
My girlfriend and I stayed in the place for 2 weeks in summer of 2019 and absolutely loved it. It is a very large and modern villa, with lots of space and privacy for sunbathing and relaxation. The villa is located on a mountain, so we had a great view while eating breakfast and dinner on the balcony. Furthermore, the hosts were really outstanding. We received tons of food, gifts and love :-) Thank you for making this trip amazing for us!

Dear Zacharias! Thanks again for the wonderful time in your dream house and the great support of you and your nice family! Information about our stay: The house offers every amenity, everything is clean, new and available what you need for a relaxing holiday. When we arrived we had prepared a great home-made lunch. The most necessary foods such as coffee, tea, bread, butter, ham, butter, water, spices, oil were present in the kitchen. A car is necessary. There is a wonderfully traditional taverna 5 minutes drive up the hill, with a small menu, very good house wine and very cheap. In Stavromenos, about 10 minutes drive, you will find a supermarket, great bakeries and some very good tavernas. It takes about 20 minutes to Rethymnon and is definitely worth a visit! There is a wonderful old town, many shops and tavernas. We also received wonderful restaurant tips from Zacharias. Beaches can be reached in the shortest possible range. We'll be back next year !!! Maison magnifique avec une très belle vue
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans la maison de Zacharias . Elle est très belle, très bien agencée et d'une propreté irréprochable, rien ne manque. La vue est magnifique avec une vue sur la mer. Zacharias s'est montré accueillant, bienveillant et très soucieux que tout se passe bien. Nous étions deux familles et nous avons adoré sa localisation , les attentions de Zacharias, la piscine, les multiples terrasses, la maison.. Nous y reviendrons avec grand plaisir
