❤️Seaside Fisherman's Cottage❤️Southwold⛱️
A gorgeous haven for couples and families, it is a wonderful holiday base throughout the year, with coast, countryside, culture & food on the doorstep. Days at the beach, sailing, horseriding, fishing, birdwatching, relaxing galore!
This lovely Victorian fisherman's cottage is in the heart of Southwold in the high street, 350 yards from the beach and 5 yards from Southwold quirky shops and mouth-watering eateries. Thimble cottage is a lovely cosy cottage, full of character and exceptionally comfortable, clean and well-equipped, including the use of unlimited Wi-Fi and super fast broadband.
Thimble cottage is close to an excellent selection of shops, restaurants, characterful pubs, excellent art galleries, a cinema and a theatre. The cottage is also a few paces from one of the most famous Brewery shops in the country – the Adnams shop.
There are excellent restaurants just a couple of minutes walk away - the Sole Bay Fish Co, Sutherland House and the Adnams Cafe are all excellent as well as several others.
As you step out of the cottage door the promenade and beach are a few paces in one direction, and the high street just yards away the other way. Despite the central location, the cottage is delightfully peaceful.
There is also public parking just outside at the back of the cottage.
The cottage has been re-furbished in a light but luxurious style and has been brought into the 21st century, with contemporary kitchen and bathroom and very comfy furnishings. On the ground floor it has a lovely open plan living room - dining space with a well-equipped kitchen and a ground floor guest bedroom. There is a shared sunny courtyard with outside furniture too.
On the first floor it has a master bedroom, which is spacious and peaceful with Victorian sash windows and a solid wood frame double size bed. There is also a guest bedroom, which is furnished with a single bed made of wood frame and superior quality mattress, covered with natural linen. There is also a newly fitted shower room.
Thimble cottage is a lovely fisherman's cottage, full of character and exceptionally comfortable. We provide complimentary toiletries and essential pantry items such as coffee, tea, sugar, biscuits, salt and pepper. We also provide household essentials such as washing up liquid, cling film wrap, foil paper and cleaning products.

The neighbourhood
Tim And Lucy’s home is located in Suffolk, England, United Kingdom.
Southwold is a picturesque seaside market-town (market-days: Monday and Thursday) on the East Suffolk Coast. Southwold is a beautiful English seaside town, set in a time warp and preserved perfectly.
Southwold's main attractions are the working lighthouse, the Adnams brewery (with tours), the awesome pier with bygone slot and amusement machines.
Thimble cottage is set right on Southwold's vibrant high street, where there are a number of interesting quaint shops to browse around plus those catering for all essentials – including... a newsagents; a bakers – selling bread and cakes baked here in the town; a stationers – also selling a good range of postcards with local scenes; a pharmacy; a traditional butchers shop - selling locally- reared meat and hand-made sausages and pies; two bookshops – both stock a range of local maps and guide books; an old-fashioned antique dealer shop (with yarns galore!); two hairdressers; a traditional barber-shop; a florist; a hardware shop (which also sells sacks of logs & kindling for the fire); one bank (Barclays – with 24hr cashpoint) and a building society.
Southwold has its own Museum and two small art galleries – with regular exhibitions by local artists (including some very well-known artists, such as Maggi Hambling).
Southwold offers loads of great places to eat out such as "The Sole Bay Co", "The Sail loft","'Coasters" and the Adnams' Swan and Crown hotels. For fun you can take a blast on the Rib 'Coastal voyager' along the coastline.
If you take a small ride on the ferry you'll arrive to Walberswick, where there is a more relaxed pastime - crabbing from the harbour in Walberswick. (bucket, line and smoked bacon needed).
Southwold also offers loads of walking and cycling opportunities.
Notable events are the:
• Christmas Swim and the New year fireworks on the beach.
• The Adnams 10k run each year.
• Southwold arts festival in June.
• Latitude Festival in July.
