The hotel was beautiful and has great restaurants in it. It was our favourite hotel we stayed in during our Ring Road adventure. Only downfall was parking. There is no hotel owned parking which is always convenient. There is parking nearby but it gets expensive because it is run by a company and you have to wheel all your luggage to street parking. I would still highly recommend this hotel though. LOVED the bathroom!

We stayed at this hotel in September 2024 for 6 nights. My assessment of the pros and cons are: Pros Helpful staff, really nice buffet breakfast with many food choices, convenient location walkable to many attractions, restaurant options on sight, and many nearby street parking spots. Cons Bed was not comfortable but memory foam toppers available upon request. Marginal improvement. Bathroom is not equipped with outlet for hair styling. Bathroom equipped with shower and tub but forgot trying to have a bath. Water pressure is down to a trickle in the tub and it would take about 45 minutes to fill it. In the room, no mirror to support hair styling. Room was very hot maybe due to radiant floor heat in bathroom (which was fabulous). We did not turn on the heat and kept the window open day and night for the duration of our stay. The window that can be opened is very small and did not cool room efficiently. We appreciated the harbor view but this means roadside and there is lots of traffic and people noise (waiting for their tour bus pickup) until about 11 pm .

We had a nice stay but the location was too far away from downtown and points of interest. Walking in the bad weather was not an option and taxis are very expensive in Reykyavik. Room price was very reasonable for the class of hotel.

The biggest hotel in Reykjavik. Local tour buses stop outside the hotel to pick up guests. 20 minutes walk to the city center. It does not seem long, but it could be an uncomfortable walk when outside is windy and cold. Well, it is Iceland.
