Very Pleasant Stay
I stayed with my family in July 2024. Despite having a bathroom sink handle break during our stay which required a plumber to be onsite for a couple hours, the overall stay was pleasant. The location was fantastic and the home very clean. Aside from the AC units in kitchen and master bedroom, all windows are essentially locked, so if you have aspirations of getting a lake breeze into the home while you stay, it’s not likely to happen. The home has an older feel to it, but it was fine for my family as we were just happy to be somewhere beautiful together. The owner was onsite during the entire duration of the stay and was pleasant when interacting with. This wasn’t a problem for us, however, it should be noted that there is a reduction of privacy that results when this is the case as it was not uncommon to cross paths in common areas, including the beach. It was obviously helpful when issues arose. Beach area is beautiful and water fairly clean and clear. My kids jumped off the dock and enjoyed playing in the shallow areas of the lake. Although depicted in photos, a canoe is not a part of the booking. Owner was kind enough to provide a canoe to us upon request given it was a primary factor in our booking. Unfortunately during our stay my 7 year old son slipped in the shower. The bathtub only has 3 small pieces of grip tape, and I did make a direct recommendation to the owner that the tub should be addressed to prevent future issues like this happening to others.

Unplug and relax
Looking for a quiet quite spacious place to unwind and unplug? This place was just that. Beautiful view of the lake. There’s just enough of a sandy beach to build a sand castle. The lake was clear, even at the end of August. There’s a roomy kitchen with a nice table spot for meals or to play games. The fireplace is enjoyable in the cozy living room where you can also see the lake. Beds were firm and the bedding comfortable. Very clean place. The owner was very kind and friendly. It felt very much like a getaway while still being very close to St. Germaine and restaurants and cafes. Lovely stay.

Serene with beautiful view of lake
Cozy place, view over the lake was breathtaking, cooked on the charcoal grill, fished off the dock (unfortunately nothing was biting). Owner filled the fire pit with sticks which made it easy to get the fire started. We did have to purchase firewood as there was none on site & the bed was more firm than we are used to. However, overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again... Hopefully for longer than a weekend.

No towels of any kind
No bath towels, no hand towels, no kitchen towels. Bedroom wall was stained and looked really gross. Pillows smelled musty. Linens are ancient. Spare toilet paper was moist and moldy. Floor is caving in behind the toilet.

Nice but problems
I stayed here for a week, my sister joined me for the last few days. We chose this location for easy access to multiple bike trails in the area (excellent for this!). Positives: 1) No car/road noise; lovely location. 2) Loons calling nightly, hummingbirds flitting around. 3) Well stocked kitchen, although stove had gas leak problems (resolved). 4) Garage space available for bike storage out of elements. 5) Back porch was a lovely place to sit and enjoy the lake view and nice weather. 6) Plenty of comfortable indoor seating. 7) Picnic table is smooth--good work surface outdoors. 8) Firm, supportive beds. 9) Owner on-site was very nice. Negatives: 1) Communication was nonexistent with "guest contact" and the property manager (Evolve). Only automated check-in info was sent (which was wrong, couldn't get in door when I arrived). Specific queries sent to both channels went ignored. When a problem arose with a stove gas leak, the guest contact did not pick up his phone, nor provide an opportunity to leave a message (they were camping with weak cell signal). We ended up shutting off the gas at the main valve. The guest contact then texted me at 11pm after I'd gone to bed to find out what happened. Owner cleaned the stove burners the next day, but the lack of "reachability" for the "emergency guest contact" in a situation like this was not acceptable. 2) The listing specifically states that a canoe/kayak is available, and shows a picture of a canoe on the dock. This is not true. A large rowboat is available. The canoe is not. 3 specific inquiries were sent about this prior to our arrival, and they were ignored. Felt deceptive, since the canoe/kayak was one of the reasons I chose this place to rent. 3) The lighting in the living room is very dim--almost impossible to read or craft by. I did my reading on the back porch. 4) Only Verizon has significant cell coverage out here. My T-mobile phone could not load websites, so I was unable to load maps or weather reports. No WiFi (known), but don't count on using your phone as a hotspot unless you have Verizon. 5) Listing says "coin laundry"--you need to go into town to the laundromat. Not on-site. Conclusion: I got by for this week, using the library in Eagle River for internet access for working and loading documents to my phone/iPad for offline work, and using cell signal when in towns when possible. Due to the negatives listed above, however, I would probably not choose to stay here again.

Nice Cabin
Our family really enjoyed our time at this cabin. We all were sad to see our time come to an end. It was very comfortable for our family with 3 children 7 and under. Has a nice area for fires with picnic table. We brought a small motor for the boat and our kids loved going for boat rides. The kids also really enjoyed swimming off the dock with a nice sand bottom. We will definitely book again.

We had a nice time at this property. No frills, lake experience. Has everything you need to have a great time. Close to downtown St Germain and an east drive to Minocqua. Would gladly stay again.

dam lake cabin
very nice well-kept up place with beautiful up-north feel & high up view of lake. Nice pier. Didn't catch any fish but was our first time on lake. Thought from pictures cabin was at lake level but in reality is about 30+ steps up from lake.

Great getaway!
We loved our week at this property on Dam Lake. The house was clean and had great views of the water. Outside space by the house was great for playing ball with the kids and the fire pit is great. The beach is accessible via stairs (44 actually), some are quite steep. However, it is worth it once you're down there. The beach is amazing- very sandy and shallow all the way to the end of the dock. Perfect for small children and my kids loved swimming all week. My only suggestion would be to get some updated pans/cookware and some mixing bowls, otherwise the house had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.

Cute red cabin in the woods!
This was the perfect escape to start our trip in Northern Wisconsin. We only stayed two nights as a way to break up the drive to get to Madeline Island. However, we could’ve stayed longer! The sleeping capacity is perfect for a family of four to five. It has a beautiful lake view with a comfy living room to sit in and look out. The kitchen and dining space was perfect for easy meal prep and family meals. The property is private and complete with a fire pit for evening fires. The lake was so perfect for our young kids to frolic in all day. The water was warm and has a copper color to it but is pretty clear with a nice sandy lake bottom in the swim area. The dock was also private. Listing is accurate in that the stairs are steep but if your able bodied it’s completely fine. We really enjoyed our time and hopefully will return!! Thank you!

Perfect fit
The vacation home accommodated my family to the T. My boys loved going down to the docks every morning to fish and swim at the little private beach. My boyfriend rented a pontoon that you can take to a restaurant that had amazing bloody Mary’s. The location is private and we couldn’t of asked for a better stay. We hope to come back next year!
