I knew hotels in Rio were expensive, but for what I paid to stay in this hotel I expected a lot more. Firstly, the accommodation was poor, everything about it. There were no positives about the room I stayed in.
Below my room there is the hostel bar, which seems to stay open till about 4. So if you're planning on sleeping, bring ear plugs as it's very noisy. As well as this, there is the loudest hostel/nightclub opposite Contemporaneo. At times, sleeping was impossible. It was like trying to sleep inside a nightclub. You can't charge the rates you are when you take into account all the negatives. It's unacceptable. Though the majority of the noise comes from the hostel across the road, you can't keep passing the buck and blaming others. Get double glazing. Do something.
The only positive is Martha, she's lovely and very helpful. Martha is too good to be working in a place like Contemporaneo.
