*Helene Update: We were very lucky & blessed to have escaped the major damage from Hurricane Helene in Robbinsville & surrounding communities. We are doing what we can to assist local & neighboring businesses in their recovery from the damage sustained, and all businesses agree; WNC needs the support from tourism more than ever now. After the initial period of emergency passes, the area will be rebuilding, and with an economy almost entirely dependent on tourism, it is crucial for the recovery of this region that travel continues once it is safe to do so. Our local roads to access this property are all clear and the businesses in Robbinsville and nearby Bryson City are encouraging travelers to keep their plans and come spend some money in their small businesses so they can keep their doors open! WNC needs the lifeblood of its tourism more than ever now so its recovery can proceed as swiftly as possible and prevent the area from falling into a recession from businesses being forced to close due to lack of income. Many locals in our area are traveling to other areas of WNC which were more hard hit by Helene with supplies and manpower to help them get back on their feet, but with so many locals dependent on tourism-based sources of income, it's crucial that the areas that are open continue to receive guests who can bring this much needed income and support to the local businesses and people of WNC, so that they in turn can lift up & support their neighbors. Every booking at Azure Heights supports locals both directly, through the work of cleaning & upkeeping the property, as well as indirectly through guests spending money at local stores and restaurants. In addition to this, the owners are sending monetary donations to local relief organizations to help with recovery. But just like other local small businesses, we need patronage in order to be able to afford to keep our doors open and, in turn, help those who were less fortunate. From the bottom of our hears, as people with a deep love for and deep roots in Appalachia, we thank you endlessly for your choice to support this amazing region!*
