Quick overnight stay for Rome
I chose this hotel in the mistaken belief that it was close to Fiumicino airport having arrived there too lat to continue my journey home. It is actually a ā‚¬55 taxi ride both ways so I could have stayed at a much more expensive better hotel nearby for the same total cost. Apart from location the hotel room was clean and comfortable with large rooms and in room kitchen facilities. The lady on reception was absolutely lovely, very helpful and kind lack of Italian. This place is probably perfect if you are exploring the area and want an inexpensive base that is comfortable and inexpensive but not the best choice for an overnight airport stopover.

Odd, but OK, place nearish to Fiumicino.
This is a "residence", not a fully serviced hotel. It is not manned 24 hours a day and it can be hard to find even with GPS. The manager we met was helpful and friendly but then he was gone. It's in a residential type are about 20 mins fast drive in light traffic from the airport. Lots of parking and a great little ristorante (Zio Servicico) about 10 minutes walk away (no food or drink at the hotel).

I booked this place because it was advertised as being near to Fiumicino Airport. However, it wasn't as close as I thought. The 8.6 miles they say it is from the airport must be as the crow flies. In reality it was more like 20-25 KM driving distance. The guy at the desk was nice, but he didn't speak English. The room was very clean and a great value for the money. But it was on a hard to find road in a so-so neighborhood.

Vicinissimo all'aeroporto Fiumicino e al mare
L'alloggio e' un vero e proprio appartamentino con una terrrazza, un angolo cottura, un tavolino, e un'ampia camera da letto. Il Casaletto dei Ludi e' molto comodo per coloro che sono in viaggio, come me: e' ubicato una ventina di minuti dall'aeroporto Fiumicino. Poi si va facilmente al mare dal residence, e' 10 minuti da Maccarese e 15 minuti da Fregene. La stanza e' pulitissima e la signora proprietaria gentilissima. Ci tornero' sicuramente!
