This hotel was walking distance to most of the major sites. Coliseum, Trevi Fountain, Roman Forum, Piazza Fenezia. Lots of options for food and drink. Beautiful street.

Very well located. (15 minutes walk to te Colosseum ) also access to public transportation and and taxi 2 minutes walk. Very nice and friendly staff. Rooms are a bit small but very clean and modern.

Relais Sta Maria Maggiore was very conveniently located being less than 10 minutes walk to Termini station and around the corner from the papal basilica from which the hotel takes its name. Lots of restaurants in the area which is important as there is no kitchen at the hotel. Staff were friendly and the cleaners did a good job. Access to the hotel is off a side street that is quite dirty as the litter bins are kept there. There was a lot of noise from the recycling collection bins in the wee hours as our room was on that side.

We were traveling to Rome for the first time with our two kids. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's a great location if you want to stay near the colosseum. Room was clean and comfortable. Would recommend.

Basic hotel with frustrating sleeping situation
Hotel is in a decent location, however it is showing many signs of wear and tear. The bed and bedding were very basic, and the air conditioning barely works, only after the keycard being inserted for several hours did the AC begin to start cooling the room down. This made trying to get a good nights sleep very frustrating.

Lovely place just missing the extra service
Lovely place in a great location. We stayed for 4 nights and despite asking the staff they never replaced the toiletries or provided fresh towels. Didn't detract too much from our experience though, we'd definitely stay again.

This propert felt like the perfect location for our trip to Rome. It wasn’t too far from the Termini and it was only 1 street away from the Santa Maggiore, but the atmosphere was much calmer than I expected. It was a nice surprise. The staff were very polite and helpful. I would definitely stay there again given the opportunity.

One of the very few good things - it’s close to Termini - convenient to get about. It’s a mile from the Spanish Steps - so it’s a decent hoof but that’s not too bad either. The room was… decently proprotioned but the AC didn’t work. Rome was in the midst of a mistral wind induced chill but my room was still so warm I was sweating. The walls are PAPER thin - I could hear the folks two rooms over doing … couple stuff. I could hear the person the next room over having coughing fits. The bathroom was absolutely TINY. The shower was about 1.5 ft by 1.5 ft - barely enough to bend/ turn. The towels were also not properly replaced - twice I found a towel I put on the ground hung back up on a hook. The toilet seat had a few spots on it that wouldn’t come off and had an unfortunate color - so it felt like the cover wasn’t clean even though it was. Now while I said that being around Termini is convenient - something to keep in mind are the folks around termini. The catcalls. The feeling that you’re somehow a mark. I got pick pocketed. And for whatever it’s worth, someone who works there felt it was completely OK to ask me out - and not really seeing a way out of the situation, I said “sure let’s coordinate” to get a barrage of WhatsApps telling me what we could do. I’m not sure it’s professional to ask a guest of the hotel to go out with them - may be I’m just old fashioned. All in all, do NOT recommend.
