Hidden gem!
Beautifully decorated small boutique hotel! In a great location to see Trevi fountain and Spanish steps! Breakfast was lovely and staff were happy to help. Only downside is we could hear the chatting at reception through the door, but it did quieten at night.

Horrible It was 100 degrees in the room. They only give you one key card which you have to insert into a panel To turn on electricity. So when you leave all power turns off. I usually leave chargers plugged in when going out and was unable to do that. Also it turns off the AC and it never got cool. I would have suffocated if not for my travel fan. The hotel is also hard to find as they only have a tiny sign that is easily missed. I had to ask a server at the restaurant next door where it was.

The Shire was in a fairly good position, where it was walkable to most areas, within about 40 minutes. The room was quiet at night and close to all restaurants. The room was small, but clean. Some upgrades, but still pretty basic. The staff was helpful and friendly.

The Shire hotel is within walking distance to so many attractions in Rome. We never had to use a taxi until we went to the airport. The desk staff are so very helpful with dinner ideas in the area for authentic Italian cuisine. Maria Louisa also arranged our transportation from the cruise terminal and to the airport. Excellent service!

These are hotel rooms on floor of a building. The rest of this block and area are huge hotels. The rooms are a decent size. The AC is fussy but usually works. Strong WiFi and hard beds.

Great little hotel surrounded by some of Romes best hotels. A little hidden gem. Great simple breakfast ain a lovely setting. We could literally look at part of the Aurelian Wall out of our window.

I cannot give high enough reviews. It was clean, staff was extremely accommodating, great area, very nice large park nearby, train station not that far away, and breakfast was AMAZING! If I ever come back this is definitely the place I’d stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the Shire Hotel. We informed them that our flight was going to arrive late so they were flexible and made sure that a member of the staff was present to wait for our arrival. The hotel is in a great location that is close to restaurants and within walking distance of the metro. Although it is very on top of a bar, our room was quiet. The complimentary breakfast is also convenient.

An ok choice but not next time
We stayed here for 4 nights and the room fan/AC worked ok the 1st 2 nights although they actually dont turn on the actual AC until later in the month just the blower fan works. By the 3rd night the fan blower would not even blow and all rooms were this way. It made it very stuff and warm in the rooms. Our TV also did not work. We told the staff and they contacted maintenance but they did not come to fix it. To open the window it was too noisy at night to keep it open. The hotel has just 9 rooms with no outside areas to sit once the breakfast hours are done. Breakfast was fine. Mostly continental type but with hard boiled eggs, cheeses and salami. The staff though was very nice and helpful. There is only 1 person for the front desk and for the breakfast area meaning its the same person. But all the ladies on the shifts did a great job. The hotel is up above a restaurant so the reception area is a floor up and the entrance to the hotel is a little hard to find at 1st but there is an elevator. Area was easy for walking and near lots of stores and restaurants. To walk to the Coloseum its a 40 minute walk, Trevi Fountain, etc would take about 25 mins. Taxis are easy to get. It was a nice boutique hotel but I'd prefer to stsy elsewhere next time.
