Our country house “the Mulberries” is situated 4km from Ronda. It can comfortably accommodate six adults and two children and boasts three bedrooms, two baths a living room and a kitchen. The house is situated on a plot of 3000 square metres and is surrounded by gardens and terraces. The house is fully equipped with air-conditioning, heating, Wifi internet and a music system. The garden features a swimming pool surrounded by lawns and a barbecue-area.
The house is an ideal place to relax in the middle of the countryside, yet only a few minutes by car from the centre of Ronda- a lively centre of culture, business and leisure with a stunning old town, rich history and unforgettable scenery.
The house is situated on one of the most famous hiking routes in the area which passes “el Cerro de Salinas” (the saline hill) and “el Llano de la Cruz” (the plain of the Cross”). This is just one of the many wonderful hiking routes around Ronda, an area of great beauty. Along the hiking routes there are various possible activities from excursions on foot or by bicycle and bird-watching through to adventure sports. You can also experience the various different types of viniculture and agriculture that are tradition in the region from vineyards and bodegas through to forestry and farming all of which are situated nearby.
During your stay at “the Mulberries”, you can experience the unique gastronomy of the region and the great local culinary tradition. In “el Llano de la Cruz” you can find various informal restaurants (ventas) where you can sample local specialities and regional favourites. Venta el Polvorilla prides itself on its “Conejo al Ajillo” and “Rabo de Toro” (Rabbit with garlic and Ox-tail), and at Venta el Pilistre you will find a wide selection of tapas and home-made dishes, the “Lengua en salsa” (tongue in tomato sauce) is a local favourite. Don’t forget to visit the surrounding villages which have a long tradition of artisan butchery, producing regional specialities such as local black-pudding, pâté, sausages, chorizo, cured meat, serrano ham, “zurrapa”- a local coarse pâté, smoked bacons, salted pork, “butifarras” (local sausage). The list goes on… These local delicacies can be bought directly from the producers and offer fantastic quality at low prices.
