Bellfire Tipi - A forest adventure awaits

Reconnect with nature at Bellfire. This glamping getaway is located in one of the best places for stargazing in NY. Wool blankets, wood burning stove, miles to roam in a sparsely populated, picturesque area for a nature getaway. We chose the location of the Tipi with privacy and tranquility in mind nestled between a creek, maple trees, and wildflower field. Camp is located 500 ft from the parking lot.

Please read before booking:

We have 4 dwellings on the property, each with ample intimate space.

Solar shower & cabin are located in the field. The solar shower is heated by the sun, during the colder months, it doesn't warm up that much.

Private Outhouse - features a wash station and a composting toilet

Kitchenette: camping stove, tea kettle, drinking water, paper cups/plates, and complimentary coffee and tea.

Outside the Tipi: Private fire pit with Adirondack chairs, picnic table, a charcoal grill, 52qt cooler, and an extra-wide hammock.

There is no electricity at the Tipi - for ambiance camping lanterns are provided. WiFi - available at the farmhouse, no work station.


The Bellfire Tipi is an 18ft dream and the perfect place for a comfortable and unique getaway. Custom-made furniture, wool blankets, cedar floors and handmade decor pieces have been carefully curated to create a space that is meditative, relaxing, and practical. There is undeniable magic in sitting around a bonfire inside a Tipi and listening to the stream and each other and waking up to the sounds of the wind and birds singing.

There's no doubt that the Sioux Indians created an incredible structure that served as their home year-round. We were inspired by their creativity and innovation. Our aim is to provide access to a doorway that allows us to remember, to connect, and to experience the Native Way - the way to become quiet, to go inward, to become conscious, to connect with Nature and with ourselves.

The Bellfire Tipi is located 500 feet from the main farmhouse. The lush green meadow and forest create a perfect hideaway. You leave your car in our parking lot and walk about 2 minutes to the Tipi site.

Our property is bordering State land, you are free to hike and explore the miles and miles of forest surrounding the tipi.

Private sauna session available by appointment - $25/person/hour.

We are mostly around the house, busy gardening or building something. We're available at all times, come find us or ring the door bell at the front door.

Roxbury, NY is a charming historical hamlet in the Catskills Mountains. We have a little bit of everything: a restaurant (Chappies), two art galleries (Roxbury Arts Group & Liberal Arts Roxbury), a modern general store (Roxbury General), a wine store (Roxbury Wine & Spirits) a ski & mountain biking resort (Platekill Mtn), a farmers market (The Round Barn). We warmly recommend all of them.

Bellfire Farm is located in a picturesque, sparsely populated area accessible only by car. Parking on-premises. Bike rentals in town.

Cell service is spotty around these parts. WIFi access is only available in the parking lot or around the farmhouse. No wifi access at the Tipi.

Your camp is located in natural wildlife habitat. Bugs and critters make up our natural ecosystem and come with the territory. None of our sites are ideal for insect-phobic guests. We do everything possible to keep them outside, by thoroughly cleaning the space between guests, but some inevitably still wander in.
Guests at Bellfire must keep to the site rules listed here, behaving in a considerate, respectful, and safe manner to all people and animals onsite:
- Quiet hours begin at 10:00 PM each night and continue until sunrise. Quiet hours consist of no music and keeping all audio at a minimum level out of respect for the surrounding guests. The Guest is expected to behave in a civilized manner and shall be good neighbors with any residents on the property. Creating a disturbance of the area by large gatherings or parties shall be grounds for immediate termination of this Agreement.
- Only confirmed guests can enter the property, no outside guests are allowed, even if they are not staying overnight.
- PETS - We are pet friendly. If you plan on bringing your pet(s) - (maximum of 2 per stay, dogs only), please add the pet fee to your reservation.
- SMOKING POLICY. Absolutely no smoking inside the dwellings. Smoking is permitted in your camp and outside areas. Guests must dispose of any cigarette waste in the garbage bin provided at each site.
- Do not leave bonfires unattended or burning before leaving the site or going to bed.
- Do not leave indoor heaters on before leaving the site or going to bed.
- Bellfire was created as a place for guests to come to for rest, to give the opportunity to switch off and immerse themselves in this peaceful place. This is why we do not permit people to use their stay at Bellfire as photo opportunities for endorsing any businesses, products, or for commercial or promotional use without prior written agreement from the host.
- The Guest shall use the Premises for recreational use only. The Guest is not authorized to sell products or services on the Premises or conduct any commercial activity.
- Please do not enter any other dwellings on the property without permission. Please respect the privacy other guests.
- Please turn off all lights, lanterns, fans, heaters, stoves when you leave for an outing or prior to checking out.
- No fireworks, firearms or confetti cannons are allowed on the property, no exceptions.
- Please take off outdoor shoes when inside
- We are an off-the-grid campsite, as such, camps feature composting toilets with clear instructions on how to use them, please read before using them.
If any of these site regulations are breached, we reserve the right to take a fine of $200 which will be levied to cover the cost of additional deep cleaning, repair or replacement, and redecoration.
