Our home was built in 1879 and is truly a part of Sacramento history. Gorgeous high water bungalow in Mansion Flats, designed and built by architect Joseph Ough in 1879. Truly a gem. Large kitchen area, high ceilings, spacious rooms with a great layout.

Mansion get away
Perfect location to see all of downtown Sacramento. Beautiful mansion in mansion flats with everything you need included. Easy check-in. Great communication from the host. I would definitely recommend this property to anybody visiting Sacramento for any length of time.

Amazing stay in this beautiful well maintained and updated historical home. The space is much larger than the pictures and perfect for a family of four. Easy access to restraints and cafes within walking distance. Great communication with the host. Highly recommend.

Gorgeous Victorian home, not so good neighborhood
The inside of the home is beautiful; old style Victorian. I would have liked to see in the listing about the parking in the back, in an alley. So, first we drove passed the home and realized there was no parking available. We had to contact the property manager for more information. He originally gave me the address. But, we had to find the alley. Fortunately, it was light when we arrived. But there was no house numbers on the back gate. We actually tried others gates, before we found ours. The parking space had an”warning. Unauthorized cars will be towed” sign. So, we hoped we were parking in the correct spot. Our back entrance was just a regular gate, where the lock had been removed. As we walked through the backyard, we noticed the old stairs leading up to the back entrance, they were broken down. One stair was almost completely eroded. I had to bring our suitcase up those stairs. I guess could have walked around the block to enter the house from those stairs. We were met we a cool home with air conditioning, which I was grateful for. However, as a grandma, with my seven year old granddaughter, I didn’t feel comfortable. There were homeless around the area; sitting a house down, and there was a cheap hotel on the. Or we, two houses over. We didn’t stay. We packed up and left. I’ve worked with VRBO for several years. I was disappointed. My granddaughter got locked in the one bathroom, because the door know didn’t work.

I couldn't have asked for more.
We were in town to visit our friend. I am transgender and my partner in crime is a fabulous drag queen, so we immediately searched for a gay dance floor Friday and Saturday night. (It was Badlands. Arrive around 11pm.) We searched by location to K Street and came across your property. When we first got to the rental we found a secure location and when I walked through the door and saw the fireplace to the left, 15 foot at least ceilings above my head, real hard wood under my feet. It took a few minutes to find the location of some ceiling lights we were looking for but once we started cooking, it was a chef's delight!! Checkout was painless and this was a rental we were delighted to clean before leaving. Thank you!

Downtown Victorian House over Christmas
My adult kids and I stayed at the Victorian house while visiting family over the Christmas holiday. This home is one of the last remaining designed by the Sacramento architect Joseph Ouchs. It is spectacular! While retaining all of the design elements popular in the late 1800s (ornately carved picture rails, pocket doors), the ceilings are super high making it light and airy so you get arched windows and doorways AND a clean, modern feel. And then you walk into the kitchen. The kitchen has been perfectly renovated with a professional grade Thor cooktop and oven. We spent a lot of time hanging out, making meals together, drinking wine, listening to music (you get the picture). Each room has a king-sized bed and we never had an issue with sharing the one bathroom. Sway/Shelby were extraordinary hosts responding instantly to any emails and checking in to make sure we were enjoying our stay. I highly recommend this rental – especially if you enjoy a little history mixed with a restoration hardware furniture vibe! We will be back soon!

The cutest victorian home. I love that there’s a coffee shop right in the corner. Walking distance to a lot of attractions and stores even target. I would definitely stay again because I have more business trips up north I really recommend this place.

Was exactly what we needed
Three of us met in Sacramento for a conference. This was one of the best equipped rentals we have stayed in. The only thing missing was a whisk or some sort of mixing implement. There were a few issues but the property manager was very easy to contact and I believe he was sincere about fixing those issues.

Spacious old house with nice updates.
The house worked well for what we needed (to be near the capitol for an event). The rooms are surprisingly large for an old house. Kitchen and bathroom have been updated nicely. The neighborhood is a bit noisy at night, but that is to be expected in a downtown setting. The house is appointed well enough. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare healthy meals, including a nice high-end gas range. My wife especially appreciated that the kitchen had a full spice rack and other condiments. Thanks! Sway, the property manager, was extremely communicative. He sent numerous emails before our stay providing the details we needed and checked in with us. My only two suggestions for improving the experience: 1. The bathroom needs towel racks or towel hooks. 2. It would be helpful to have a sign on the back gate with the property address. We had a little trouble identifying the correct gate when we first arrived in the back alley.

Lovely and Convenient
I was in town with a colleague for work and we stayed here for four nights. It was a lovely, thoughtful space with lots of light, super clean, comfortable beds, fully stocked with everything you could need for a short stay. And easy, convenient communication with the property manager. I will stay here again when I’m in Sacramento for work.
