Beautiful Villa with heated pool - just 10 minutes from the sea!

La Marette is situated on the edge of the village which is in itself situated within a Bird Sanctuary and Natural Reserve yet only 10 minutes from the golden beaches of the Vendee!
This well-maintained and pretty villa consists of 3 double/triple bedrooms plus a self-contained studio with a king-sized bed and bed settee with its own toilet and wet room. The main house has a well-proportioned bathroom including a sofa bath with a shower and a fitted corner shower cabinet, including massage jets. There is a separate toilet.
The open plan lounge/dinner/kitchen is well equipped with a pellet fireplace (new in 2024) and leads onto a large patio and attractive 2000 sq meter garden. The 10 x 5-meter pool is heated between May and October (April depending on the weather) and is surrounded by countryside, palm trees and bamboo. It is cleaned and maintained during your stay. The pool area is set within a fenced garden to the side of the villa. It is surrounded by roses, lavender and Russian sage. Sunbeds and a poolside table and chairs are provided. On the main patio, accessed via French doors from both the main house and the studio is a large table with benches and a gas barbeque. The studio and the main bedroom overlook the pool.
There is a children's play area with swings, a trampoline, table tennis and an outdoor toy box. Books, games.

Wonderful hosts and an amazing property. The massive pool was the highlight, especially in the 37 degree heat! Kids loved the outdoor space and table tennis table. We’ll definitely be back.

Fabulous family week
We were a family of 6, travelling with our adult children and their partners. The house was great, lots of outside space in a quiet rural area. The pool was fantastic, warm and a good size for swimming, games etc. The annexe was a welcome addition offering privacy and additional living accommodation. We hired bikes from Lovely Bicylettta in Luçon and they delivered and collected them from the house. The roads are quiet and felt safe for cycling, vendee velo routes can be easily accessed. Plenty of good crockery and utensils for cooking and a great bbq/outside stove which we mainly used. The house would benefit from a bit of an upgrade in places (windows and doors get a bit stuck, some loose tiles near pool area etc. ) but this didn’t detract at all from our holiday experience and we’d definitely book again. Stuart and Michelle were easy to communicate with and prompt to reply to our questions.

Villa au calme, mais grand besoin d'un coup de neuf
Le positif: - villa au calme avec un grand jardin, ideal pour les enfants et le chien - aucun vis à vis, on est vraiment tout seul - les propriétaires sont disponibles en cas de pepin, et sont flexibles - ca sent vraiment le propre quand on arrive, le linge de bain sent bon le negatif: - la maison a serieusement besoin de renovation, la plupart des portes et des fenetres ne ferment pas bien, la protection du trampoline est usée - beaucoup d'humidité dans certaines pieces - aucun commerce dans le village, il faut prendre systematiquement la voiture pour aller faire les courses / aller chercher du pain. => au final, un bon sejour, mais le rapport qualité / prix n y est pas.
