Cleanliness was appalling, the carpet with horrible visible marks, we had spoken to the reception, in which we requested that we check out at 12 as opposed to 11 in which he agreed. When it came to checking out the next day a man came into the room at 11am, he just knocked once on the door and came into the room, my wife was in shock, I was in the shower and luckily my wife was presentable at the time, but this is horrific and not hospitable at all, he then had the nerve to knock on the door again, and I said we have agreed to check out at 12 with the guy at the receptionist last night, he responds with ‘that was not me and he shouldn’t have said that and he didn’t tell me’ well I said that’s a communication issue between yourselves nothing to do with me, wouldn’t be staying here again.

Get what you pay for. Room smelling damp. Had to keep the windows open and bathroom exhaust on for 3 to 4hrs to reduce the smell. May not stay again.

I was extremely disappointed in the state of this hotel, given that the last time I stayed it was nice. Firstly, there was no hot water and I was told they tried to call me to let me know, (but they didn’t have my US number correctly noted on file). Things do break down and I was too tired to deal with finding a last minute alternative on my last night, so I put up with that. What really upset me was the state of the hotel - dirty, shabby and very old and run down. Peeling wallpaper and paint, curling and wrinkled carpet throughout, bathroom lights didn’t work. A general feeling of being dirty and worn. I was awake all night because the guests next door kept going in and out of their room all night long, every hour or so, with their door making a noise, then when going back into their room, I heard their them speaking through the thin walls. I will never stay here again.

Do not stay here!
Horrendous Room was old and dirty, freezing cold, no heating on at all, lock on the door didn’t work, walls were paper thin and could hear people next door really clearly, tv was tiny and could hardly hear it from bed.

My preferred choice in the Manchester area. Nice rooms, decent sized car park, a mile walk to the tram stop. Friendly staff; although on this occasion didn’t partake of breakfast, in the past this has been a nice meal.

I went to Sale for business for a few days. Looking at the picture when I booked, it looked nice. However, my room was in a building at the back. It was unclean and dated. The shower was poor with debris on the bottom of it. The couple next door were loud til 2am each evening. At least their sex didn’t last longer than 2 minutes. I was told a few days before arriving that there was no restaurant. On arrival I was told there is no bar! Not great. Why then were there people in the main hotel in the morning eating breakfast? I am suspecting this is a migrant hotel. On the plus side, it was self contained and you can park for free.

Lots of potential but due an upgrade. Many faults in terms of missing the up to date touches, complemented by 1970s feel. For the price I might consider it again, but don’t get your hopes up.
