Stayed in Salerno for 4 weeks with goal of getting a more “authentic” feel for Italian living and avoiding more expensive & touristy places like Sorrento & Amalfi Coast and to use as a base for Naples, Amalfi Coast, and Southern Italy day trips. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in exploring Salerno and the surrounding areas!
Pros:
* Checking in & out were smooth and Giuseppe was very responsive to any questions we had.
* Building is secure and in a safe neighborhood.
* Location is great for everything you want to do in the Rione Duomo & Centro Storico
* Everything available 2 blocks away.
* Under 10 mins to walk to Duomo-Via Vernieri metro stop; about 20 mins to walk to the main Salerno train station; and about 15 min walk to Molo Manfredi ferry terminal
* Apartment is clean, spacious, bright, and beds are comfortable w/ plenty of space for storage.
* 2 air conditioners
* Small washing machine & options to air dry indoors or outdoors + ironing board with iron.
* Kitchen has everything you need to cook basic meals.
* Excellent wi-fi speed & plenty of outlets.
Cons (but not dealbreakers for us):
* Kitchen is small for prep space
* Rainfall shower pressure is not very strong
* If coming up Via Canali, street is very steep - don’t attempt w/ suitcases!
* Pics showed 6 pillows but only 2 available upon arrival so we had to buy more
