Staff manager was very rude and seemed suspicious of being on some sort of illegal substance due to the behavior and rudeness and lack of accomodation and especially saying as soon as me an my spouse walks in the front door he immediately says we don't accommodate that here. As if he meant to discriminate. It was very uncomfortable, and very unprofessional.

Room was not up to my expectations. Needs to be updated. Stairs were broken which could be dangerous. I am 73 and was put on the 3rd floor with no elevator. I don’t remember if I asked to be on the first floor as I usually do. Sink was rusty at the drains. Receptionist was very professional and registration was excellent. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

2nd time staying here and I'm sure we'll stay here again. It's super close to Cal Poly so perfect for move in / move out. it's easy access to downtown and the price is ok. All the SLO motel properties like this one are similar. Cheap througout the year but ridiculous during the peak weeks. Rooms are relatively clean but this time the bathroom could've used a redo. It's a fine 2 star budget hotel in need of a serious update. Skip the 'continental breakfast' We get the deluxe 2 queen and have a balcony which makes it nicer. Parking is free and easy

This was the second time we stayed at the Lamplighter Inn for one night while traveling. It was clean, the bed comfortable, the neighborhood quiet, the staff friendly. It was a good value.

Nice for the price
Room was clean and spacious. The air conditioner did not work but being that you are in cooler climate it was fine. A box fan was provided and that worked great. The microwave didn’t work. Not a huge deal. We literally just slept and showered in the room. I would stay again for a quick trip to the beach.
