We have stayed at many very nice (and expensive) hotels, cozy cabins, etc., but my wife and I stumbled upon a real treat. This place is a unique lodging creation. It's an honest-to-God genuine farm silo! The ranch owner has cleverly retrofitted the silo's interior with a quaint living place, and it was just completed. On May 7th, 2022, we stayed in the "Blue Door" silo. (There is a second silo that will soon be ready to rent). The bed & bath were upstairs, and the living area and small kitchen (with ample amenities) is downstairs. Two Smart TV's with apps to watch movies, etc, and good internet wi-fi for guest cell phones. There is a very good air conditioning/heating/fan unit. Bedding is fluffy. Several small windows allows ample light in and a view outward to see the hills, oak trees and orchards. On the back side of the silo is a wooden deck and chairs and a wonderful view of the hills and countryside.. Perfect to read a book and soak up some local wine. The ranch itself is gorgeous and extremely well manicured. Horses in a corral. An old farmhouse. Our one-night stay was a great dose of being out in the countryside and away from it all, yet it is just a few minuets from San Miguel and only a few more to Paso Robles. Super quiet and serene. I'm not an author, but weirdly I suddenly felt like I needed to write a book. Kidding on writing a book, but the comment is to convey the feeling you get. We met the owner, Phil, and he gave us a walk around the other wedding/event features he is building including a giant open-space barn he rebuilt for dining & dancing. He kept its aged barn-wood rustic appearance on the inside and added new cedar on the exterior, and it's got that good 'ol country feeling and it's ripe for a real hoe-down party. Our one-night stay in the silo was a treat and a story we've shared with friends and family, and we will absolutely return again and again! Congrats to the owners Phil and Tracy for their ingenuity, creativity and quality.
