Love the area. The two bedroom townhouse was nice, but we would lose power and water regularly. Great living room with a flatscreen, but no service so no tv. Phones didn’t work to call the front desk. Honestly just think they’re not ready to have guests. . Dinners and drinks at the restaurant were way way overpriced. Staff was great though. So kind and as helpful as they could be. Most of the locals were so kind and welcoming. We ended up booking an Airbnb in town the last few days, on the beach, and just eating the cost of the hotel. Which was twice the price of the comparable Airbnb on the beach.

My stay at Mahogany was very nice, all of the staff was very helpful, felt safe on there property. Alan was so helpful, and Lovenia at the concierge desk was very helpful as well. I would stay here again.

The room was dark and malodorous. The electrical system and cable TV were out at times. The sheets were old and pilly. There were no extra pillows. There were mesquitoes every where, even on the indoor part of the dining room. The pictures give you the idea you are on a beautiful bay- you are not it is a misquito laden small waterwy you cannot swim in. You have to reserve a boat to gonout to a beach 15minutes away. The problem is that the boat is has limited room and is overbooked. We never made it to the beach.

Very courteous staff, the private beach amenity was exceptional! The accommodations for the cabins were convenient and very private, recommend you rent the golf carts during your stay for trips to San Pedro. Lots to do and places to eat.

The biggest disappointment was the false advertising. The photos and description made it sound like it was on a beach or close to a beach and the photos gave the impression that the rooms had some sort of scenic view. Which all did not happen. The beach is a 15 minute boat ride, the room looked out to construction sites and swaps, and the entire area around the property was under construction. We tried to upgrade and were ready to pay money to have a better room, and the staff made it clear that wasn’t an option. They offered us the same room on a different street which has the same view. The staff was stuck up, not accommodating and honestly just dry. Definitely not the Belizean culture. The common areas were basic, the gym was 1/3 of the size of the photos, and the pool did not have a view as it looked. So basically lots of false advertising. We couldn’t cancel so booked a different hotel with a beach front casita and it was just what we flew across countries to get to. With that said, the beach club was a 10/10 and did not feel at all related to the experience we got at the hotel. If they offered the beach club as a separate fee, I would go back just for that.
