Something's off
This is prob our 4th visit to this spot, and while we have always had a great time here, this time it felt kinda off. We have always enjoyed the remote and beautiful location, easy access to one the most beautiful scenic driving roads in California and lots of hiking trails nearby. The grounds were also beautiful from what we recall. Due to the closure of the PCH for more than a year, it felt a lot quieter this time despite being in the middle of summer. The iconic pergola has collapsed and was fenced off. The grounds looked a bit barren for some reason. The dinner at the restaurant was ok very average for the price, with a couple of the dishes that sold out (or simply ran out). Check in was very fast, and wifi was reliable enough to get some critical emails or look up maps and restaurants. The weather was very foggy so no sunset. The biggest disappointment of this stay was the room. This time we got a room that stank horribly upon the first seconds of entering the room. We have a service dog ourselves so we are pretty forgiving when it comes to pet friendly rooms, but the smell was off the charts. It made the entire room felt dirty and unclean, we had to leave the glass doors open for hours before we come back in. While our past rooms were cozy and quaint, this time it felt uncomfortable, smelly and small. I wished I told the reception to complain about this. We have always gotten the base rooms in the past trips, but this was the worse experience we prob wont return again

This property is unique and has a wonderful setting. There was a live band playing when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon and we enjoyed listening to them. The restaurant had very good food and selection of entrees. Our check in process was disappointing. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly but flippant with his remarks and responses to questions. Our room did not have a screen door on the sliding glass Arcadia door which would have been helpful to get air in the room and keep flies out. The chairs in the room looked like all of the bonded leather had come off of the chairs. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. The shower head was great, but the hot water was scalding hot. You really should provide a warning. We did like the coffee drinks and food from the coffee shop. Overall this is a special place.

Beautiful setting and scenery. Rooms were clean and the views could not be beat. We generally enjoyed our stay. HOWEVER, we booked a room for five people. There was only sleeping space for four people and I had to pay a nightly fee for a cot in the room. When I stated this was a misleading practice, I was told that booking a room for five people meant “five people can be accommodated by fire code limits, not that there is sleeping space for five people.” So if you’re looking for stunning views, this place is worth a stay. Just be prepared for possible hidden fees.

I liked the area around the property. The view was amazing, especially at sunset. The Saturday and Sunday barbeque and concerts were nice, but there were not enough chairs for us and we had to sit on the ground.

Somehow, I was booked the room that included a wedding party. I don’t know how that happened the wedding party the guests partied and I was not able to rest. I was not able to rest because they were drinking, laughing dancing of course it’s celebration guest and people walked by my room my windows were open inside. It was not comfortable. I don’t know how someone booked that room Allowed me to book that room when there was a private party going around in that area

Ragged Point Inn is a first-class experience at a very reasonable rate. You must get a room with an ocean-view and be prepared to be mesmerized by it the entire time you're in your room on a cliff and small patio for gazing. The whole property is gorgeous and very quiet atmosphere and extremely private.All the staff are warm and professional and will bend over backwards to help you.I can't wait to go back as soon as possible!

Quite disappointed in our stay. The overall grounds were in very bad shape. Weeds and overgrown plants everywhere. Fencing behind our room (and everywhere) was damaged. Outdoor Bathrooms near restaurant were disgusting. Room was not very clean. Food at restaurant was decent. Highlight was view of ocean. Certainly, would not stay here again, especially at $300 per night.

You have to go use their business center to communicate on Internet you know like the 90s anyway was a great experience. The views here are gorgeous and worth every cent. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a bit of a rustic feel. They have much more character than most sterile hotel rooms. The property complements, rather than detracts from the scenery. The staff are all kind and incredibly helpful.

Amazing location, room needs updating
The location is amazing, with a beautiful view out over the ocean. The restaurant has a wall of windows as well as outdoor seating around a firepit, and is a wonderful place to enjoy the view of the Pacific. However the buildings are a bit outdated and could use a refresh. The fireplace in the room didn't work and needed maintenance. This seemed to be a known problem because there were 3 space heaters provided in our room. The restaurant is uneven quality. The breakfast was quite nice, but the dinner entrees were uneven, and the desserts were surprisingly bad. This was a shame because this would really be a wonderful place for a special dinner (date, anniversary) if it were just a little bit higher quality. The person at the checkin desk was extremely responsive when we had questions and a problem with our keys, so that was wonderful. The restaurant staff were also very nice and helpful.

There were a lot of dogs barking, next door to us and below us, so not exactly quiet. The room we were in had a beautiful view! I think they need to consider getting some new furniture. The chairs by the fireplace had massive dents and creaked.
