Great stay at the Hilton at the airport before my 22 hour flight back home to Australia . The staff were lovely ! The dinner of lasagne was amazing and the convenience of walking to Rome airport was awesome . A very comfortable bed too ! A good place to stop before flying home . I’m so glad I did, and feel very rested .

Great airport hotel.
Perhaps not at the usual Hilton level, a bit dated, but wonderful service, very clean and excellent food at the restaurant. Bar was great. Plus was the ac!! I think some people in other reviews may have not understood how to turn the ac on. It appears to be on but is only on fan unless you move the switch to ac (it’s hard to read) The bed and pillows were very comfortable. All in all a great stay connected to the airport. Not sure why anyone thought it was a long walk, it was a super easy 5-10 walk even in heels.

Needs to be accessible, user-friendly to guests!
To call Hilton an « airport hotel » is deceiving! Arrived @ 9:55 from departure destination; had to walk with 4 pieces of luggage down a dingy walk-way. Lightening was dim & homeless sleeping at side of walkway; at the end of corridor took an elevator downstairs, then outdoors, only to see Hilton Hotel a few hundred feet away. Upon entering main door, there was a lineup of guests waiting to check-in. Upon reaching the front desk staff and giving pertinent info, I was told that my room was not yet ready! This was after 10:30 PM. Had an early departure the next morning. As there were no airport baggage carts available, had to walk my 4 pieces of luggage back to the airport through the walk-way.

It's time for a refresh for this Hilton property! The room next to ours was 'under construction'? The door was open with a warning sign in front and looked like a crime scene and smelled even worse!

I only stay at an airport hotel when the travel program demands it. At Rome Fiumicino, Hilton is the only available alternative - no other one is available. Yet, they should still try to make the hotel more welcoming and user friendly. To put 2 bottles of water in the fridge, indicating that they are free ONLY if you have a certain status at Hilton`s loyalty program, well, I do not consider that friendly gesture. The same applies when you are connecting to the Internet. Any hotel, anywhere, provides free Internet to all its guests... I do not see why Hilton first requires membership in their loyalty program.... Ridiculous!

Good: We were exhausted from traveling and while they wouldn’t let us check in early, they did give us access to the pool and luggage storage. The luggage porters were very helpful. Later, room service food was excellent and reasonably priced. Poor: While we were given access to the pool, we had to purchase swim caps and register for the pool. After paying, we found that there was a 45min water aerobics class in the pool so we couldn’t use it anyway. All well and good, but if we had known that, we wouldn’t have paid for the swim caps just to sit there; and also wondered why we weren’t informed of the class since we had to register with a pool attendant in the first place. Later, after waiting in line for over 30min just to check in, we found that our room was lacking. Our bed did not have a flat sheet on it. The door striker was broken and the wood around the door was splintering. The toilet ran all night. Disclaimer: We did not bother with complaining to staff since we were only there for one night, so they may have remedied some of these things if we had attempted. However, it just didn’t meet our expectations of a Hilton stay and for the price, we were hoping for a nicer stay. Overall, I would only recommend due to the convenience of the location and for a short stay.

The room never really cooled off well even though it wasn't very hot outside during our stay. My main frustration was with the restaurant. Our order came out wrong in that I they brought out an extra side item that we did not order. No problem with that, but they charged us for the extra item instead of removing it from the bill. After a long travel day, was too tired to make it worth my while to dispute it; just as matter of principle we shouldn't have been charged. The restaurant was beautiful and tables spaced well apart which we appreciated. Food was good and nice ambiance. As a traveler, the location is ideal of course.

Nothing special!
The signage to get from hotel, from airport a little difficult. The room has no outlet on the nightstand which means no clock and nowhere to plug my phone for easy alarm/time check which made me have to get up in the middle of the night multiple times to check the time( so inconvenient and annoying). The dinner in the restaurant was dry and hard( disappointment ) How do you mess up chicken and potatoes? I don’t need much but basics were not great.

The WORST - food poisoning
HANDS DOWN, THE WORST HOTEL STAY EVER. After a lovely family vacation, we decided to stay here for one night ahead of our early morning flight. Several things wrong with the hotel/room which I'll list below. The most terrible part is that we ALL got food poisoning after eating dinner in the hotel restaurant. Will spare you the details but safe to say we didn't sleep all night and my kids continued to throw up the whole flight home. Serious nightmare for us and those near us on the plane. Aside from the food poisoning, our room keys kept deactivating, there was NO internet wifi available (despite being given a network and password) there was no TV network available to watch, and no plugs for our phones anywhere near the beds/nightstands. The room was mostly dark, barely any lights available and shower only got luke warm. We are finally home after the worst travel day ever due to the food poisoning and still trying to recover. Just about ruined our entire vacation. Extremely upset.
