Great location in Santa Cruz
Lovely spacious room. Comfy bed. Nice shower. Quiet! My only suggestion is to have plant based milk at the breakfast both for coffee and cereal.

We walked into our hotel room, and the sink was full of would appear to be diarrhea. We immediately after smelling it, went downstairs and told the front desk in the upgraded our room to the nicest room in the hotel. Everything was great. The service was great, but it was very noisy. Cars are racing up and down the street garbage truck emptied a huge dumpster behind our window at 5 o’clock in the morning I would’ve rather stayed down by the beach.

While the property itself was very clean, the experience was subpar for Hyatt’s reputation. I’ll try to be as fair and balanced as possible - Valet attendants were extremely kind and even helped with some local hot spot suggestions. The check-in staff were very welcoming and kind as well. The facility was clean and modern. Our room was very clean and taken care of. Here’s the negatives - our extra blanket in our room was still wet. We let the cleaning people know and they were very apologetic and provided a fresh, clean blanket right away. Secondly, there is no room service and when I called to order food from the in-house restaurant, I thought that room service was provided but the lady on the phone snapped back annoyingly “We don’t do room service here”. I had to walk down to the front desk to pick up food from their restaurant. The restaurant food - worst ever. And that’s putting it nicely. Ordered wings, 2 chicken sandwiches and a double patty burger. The wings were the only shining part of the meal. The burger was extremely overcooked and hardly edible, and I’m extremely lenient when it comes to hotel food (I know timing is hard). Sanwiches looked like they were store bought, unwrapped and served. Very dry. Oh, and it was suppose to take 25min for food - it took 45 min with a reminder call from me to the front. Maybe they forgot. Continental breakfast was unimpressive but at least you get some options (eggs, potatoes, sausage, French toast). Not the Hyatt standard.

Super clean hotel! We loved the spacious room. The valet staff and gals at the check in desk were incredibly friendly and offered up wonderful suggestions. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk through a residential neighborhood to the boardwalk. The free breakfast was perfect. They offered coffee/tea, juices, bagels/ toast, oatmeal, yogurt, French toast, bacon, eggs and sausage! Perfect for those with families. We will definitely book that hotel next time we are in Santa Cruz!

Valet parking is a nuisance. I like to come and go as I wish with the valet parking you have to go to the front and they have to get your car every time it’s annoying and that comes even with a $19 fee.
