Slightly old hotel, but rooms are nicely upgraded
The fan in the bathroom of room #273 was horribly loud and annoying. On a minor note, the hot water in that bathroom was controlled by the wrong faucet (should be left and it was right).

Andy is really nice and made us feel really welcome. The room we had was really spacious and comfortable. The espresso machine was great. We’re looking forward to coming back again!

The staff was very helpful and kind. He gave me good suggestions on planning my day trip in the city. I appreciate it very much. They also stored my luggage for free after I checked out so that I could have a full day to go sightseeing. That is very nice.

Checking in was a breeze. Andy, the manager welcomed me and my friend with informative, humorous, and insightful conversation that we often enjoy when we travel. Because of this, we actually ended up adding an additional night stay even before checking into our room. When we got to the room, we were pleased with the king size bed and the size of the room that was perfect for our stay. If you enjoy good, affordable hospitality, the beach environment, and knowledge base of things to do, Andy is a wealth of information at a location that definitely can provide for those bucket list items that you can check off!

Disclaimer: I am ALWAYS disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotels I've stayed at, even the very expensive ones. I wasn't expecting anything different here, especially for the low price on this very last minute trip. However, this hotel was excellent! Very clean, updated facilities, spacious, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. This will be my go to for all my future trips to Santa Cruz.

I feel like I paid for a horse and got a pony. I’ll start with the good. The room was pretty clean, the location was convenient with a convenience store next door and the staff was nice but the picture of the room didn’t match the room at all, the hot water seemed to taper off after a few minutes in the shower, there were things in the room that were branded with another hotel (the phone for instance) and I came back to my room after spending the first night and the bed wasn’t even made. New towels but they forgot to make the bed? I’ve never seen that before. There was a lot of street noise and banging on doors from other guests. Not the hotels fault but something to know.

Everything we needed was in close proximity. The property was clean and safe, the staff was respectful and knowledgeable. It was a little difficult opening and closing the doors because the humidity caused the wood to swell. The refrigerator and microwave were in a cabinet too low to the floor which made it difficult to see and access.

WHEN I CHECKED IN THE MGR ASKED IT I WANTED UPSTAIRS OR GROUND FLOOR. BECAUSE IHAVE WALKING DIFFICULTIES. I CHOSE GROUND FLOOR. WHAT A MISTAKE, MY ROOM WAS RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE ICE MACHINE {SOMEONE FILLING A COOLER AT 5 AM}. THEN THERE WAS A VERY HEAVY PERSON WALKING BACK AFORTH RIGHT ABOVE MY ROOM TILL LATE AT NIGHT THEN UP VERY EARLY.
