Lovely, clean hotel and lovely people
Absolutely perfect hotel. Room was lovely and spotless with a great view. Parking is free and close by. Staff was amazing and friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay at this hotel again. Really patient with us when we were checking out too. Truely wonderful people.

very quiet hotel near La Spezia. Perfect location if you are looking to visit 5 terre and have a nice overnight stay. Only negative side is that the breakfast should be little bit better, and stronger.

The accomodation was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful. Really clean and more than adequate breakfast. Only downside was The need to drive to a restaurant. The recommendation though was excellent 10 minutes away.

Clean, with everything you need.
Hotel was as described. Good room with good amenities. Ours was an accessible room though we hadn't asked for that. Consequently, shower flooded bathroom floor as no edges on it, but we managed. Staff very nice, but very little English just so you are aware. Good breakfast. Parked right outside our door. So a convenient stay for our trip and nice people!

Clean, comfortable, excellent staff. Very welcoming. Highly recommend this hotel. Easy access to the autostrada. Easy to take day trips to Lucca, Pisa, Parma, Cinque Terre and a wonderful place Porto Venere. Good internet service, parking.

A Taste of Italian Hospitality
This is my second visit to Il Casale del Giglio. It is a terrific small Bed and Breakfast that is worth double the remarkably inexpensive price. The rooms have been modernized and the appointments and little touches make the experience pleasant. The lady who manages it (owns it?) makes the guest experience authentic and welcoming.

Enjoyable stay
My wife and I stayed for 2 nights. We visited Cinque Terre, and this B&B is still close enough. This is basic accommodation, just a small number of rooms, but very good value for the money. Clean room, friendly people, overall enjoyable.

Great stay just outside La Spezia!
The room was extremely lovely and the bed was very comfortable. All very modern with lovely fixtures. The shower was very small however. The aircom was on the whole time we were there didn't seem to cool the room down too much so it was a warm nights sleep (we had it on turbo!). Breakfast was lovely and the owners were very accommodating. Building work is currently going on although this didn't effect us. The area isn't that great but 15 mins from La Spezia which was wonderful. Overall I would definitely recommend it!

Lovely rooms
Tastefully decorated rooms with en suite. The breakfast was really nice and staff very friendly. The location wasnt the best but if you have a car and are travelling around I would recommend this place.

Was very presently surprised by this B&B. Rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The owners are helpful and although they don't speak much English (we have zero Italian) still managed to make us feel very welcome. Location is 10 mins from La Spezia by car. Would definitely stay here again.

Kind Owners. Authentic Experience.
PROS: This hotel is well-kept, clean, and in a safe area close to a grocery store and a train station. The owners live next door -- the guesthouse is basically in their backyard -- and clearly care deeply that their guests are well taken care of. Breakfast (cereal, meats, breads, pastries, cheeses, yogurt, coffee, tea, and juices) is included, and everything was excellent. They light candles on tables outside of each room at night for guests to sit outside and enjoy the evening, and are around and available if you need anything. CONS: The closest train station (S Stefano di Magra) is a 10-15 minute walk from the B&B, and the sidewalks around the roundabouts you must navigate aren't easy to find when you arrive with luggage. We eventually found an easier path to walk (with luggage in tow) back to the station by walking through the shopping center across from the station instead of following the roads, which are of course the directions you get from a map online. The walk isn't too long, so it is manageable as long as you are expecting it. If you are visiting the Cinque Terre, note that the last train back to S Stefano each night will need to leave Monterosso around 8:30 pm. It arrives back in S Stefano around 9 pm. So if you are looking to enjoy the night life in the Cinque Terre, this might not be the B&B for you. We were able to access the free wifi, but the signal was only strong enough to be picked up by our computers and didn't work reliably on our phones.

My fiance and I stayed here for 3 nights. S. Stefano Di Magra is a small town with not much going on but it was nice to stay in a quaint area for us. Just 1 train stop away from la spezia from which you can take the train to Cinque Terre. The rooms were really nice and the breakfast was by far the best we had throughout our stay in Europe. The owners were incredibly helpful. There was a train strike so they bought us bus tickets and told us we did not have to pay for them. We were worried about making our train our last morning so asked about finding a cab and they insisted that they drive us. When I tried to pay them for the ride, they gave the money back! You will not regret staying here

A little gem
Booked this B&B after having read some good reviews. Have to say the actual event surpassed all expectations. The room was beautifully clean and tidy, very tastefully furnished with a abundance of toiletries, mini bar and a local biscuit on the pillow, all touches quite uncharacteristic of a room in this price bracket. The breakfast was immaculate, catering for all tastes and supervised by the attentive Gina and her son. All in all an exceptionally well run establishment and a joy to have been a guest there. Keep it up Gina!!

We stayed one night with our 1 year old. We were very impressed by the cleanliness, elegance, and attention to detail. I would definitely recommend, and would definitely stay there again if in the area. The owners were very professional yet also very kind and inviting. We arrived late, and she still greeted us with a smile. Neighborhood nothing to write about but only 10 min from la spezia and right off the autostrade.

Nice hotel by the train station. From the train station you could easily access La Spezia, Cinque Terra and other areas. The manager was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good. Would stay again.
