Only complaint was it being an interior room so to make up for the lack of natural light they have skylights. Not very conducive for sleeping in late with the morning sunlight shining in. Overall I enjoyed my stay and the tavern was awesome.

Grumpy is the BEST! The staff were all friendly and helpful. (Ask about their experience stories.) The bedroom set and decor were beautiful in room 305. We had some interesting (read: haunted) experinces there, too. We both woke from strange dreams at exactly the same time. A friends, daughters borrowed EMT showed strong readings in the bed where my wife was. She asked for no more nightmares and that was the last we had. The only thing that interrupted our sleep after that was...the mattress. We also had full strength readings just inside the shower near the sink. The food in the dining room is delicious! And we had another experience. A child ghost that remains in the dining area that used to be the kitchen moved only the shiny penny of three placed at the corner of the table. Pretty cool! We were within walking distance to so many areas of interest that we did not use any transport other than feet and thw hop on hop off bus with a stop a block from the Inn. We never got vack to hear Barbaras story. Guess we will have to come back.

I do not typically write negative reviews. But this one bears mention. I checked in and was escorted upstairs by a very nice man named Grumpy. When we arrived at my room,he opened the door and I learned it had no window. I have never heard of such thing. I was not happy. The room was also freezing cold requiring me to turn the system off completely for the night so that I wouldn’t freeze. There was no window to open, so that meant no ventilation. I unpacked showered and on my way out to dinner. I stopped at the desk and told him I was very unhappy. The room had no window and I had no idea that that was the case in advance. He assured me that it appears on their website, and in Expedia website. Since I did not rent the room using either of those two platforms, it was not in the description of my room, or I never would have taken it. He apologized, but they were full due to Floridians coming to Savannah to escape the hurricane. I came back late intentionally so that I could just go directly to sleep. I woke up early, thinking I would go down to breakfast I walked Down the hall in search of the stairway. It was only about 7:30 in the morning and an overcast day No lights in the hall. I walked to the end of the hall and back, unable to find the stairway. So I walked back slowly and found the door to the stairs locked with a sign reading that the first floor does not open until 10 AM. Early checkouts should just leave their key in the room so I exited out a side door. No food.

The property was good and the room was a nice size. The bathroom amazing but the bed definitely needs a new mattress it was really uncomfortable.
