A relaxing weekend away in beautiful character hotel . The weather was superb so used the beautiful gardens to sit and relax in. Such a fantastic location for everything . Very friendly staff , so clean everywhere . We will definitely be recommending the hotel and we will be back too .

Room was very comfortable and clean. The food at night was amazing. And the breakfast is buffet style. There's a great choice of cereal and fruit and yoghurt to start. Then there is the main event bacon and sausage two different types of eggs. And all the other extras which go with your breakfast.

This is a beautiful old hotel. The lounge is very nice. Food was just OK in the dining room. Walking into town is easy and lovely as you pass by gardens, parks and the river. There are many shops and restaurants in Keswick. Lake Derwentwater is also within walking distance. Taking the boat on the lake is a great way to experience the scenery and get a drop off to one of the many hiking trails around the lake. We would stay there again. If you want to take any of the local tours, almost all depart and return to Windermere of Ambleside. We did not have a car, so had to take an early bus to Windermere to get on a 9 AM tour. No refrigerator, AC, iron or bedside USB ports.
