This nature park is the only Alpine nature reserve and recognised by UNESCO as a special protection area for wildlife such as the ibex or eagle as well as native plants such as the Edelweiss. Towering above everything is the steep mountain ridge of the Watzmann, which is covered with snow for most of the year and offers beautiful hiking opportunities.
