My stay of choice when in the Scunthorpe area. Friendly traditional pub atmosphere, so rare these days. Excellent food, service and welcoming staff. Can recommend happily!!

Comfortable, great food, good value!
I've stayed here before, so i expected it to be good, and it was. A comfortable single room, with a well-lit desk for doing some work. The evening meal was excellent! (Unfortunately I was unable to have breakfast, but i know it would have been good.)

When we arrived, the restaurant was closed for reasons beyond their control, but they helped us order takeaway, which we ate in their pub.

Not as good as the rating
The staff in the pub were very welcoming. The accommodation is not in the pub but in a separate building at the back of the car park. The building has four, ground storey bedrooms. The bed linen was a yellowish colour and the bed not very comfortable. The room was rather dated ad tired looking, really not sure how this location got a 'superb' rating.

Great room, fabulous food, warm welcome.
Warm friendly staff, comfortable stair-free quiet lodge room with TV and mini fridge+freezer, chilled milk + litre water carafe, tea/coffee/biscuits, hairdryer and clean bedding/shower en-suite. Comfortable king size bed. Excellent parking and fabulous freshly cooked full English with options breakfast (also with fruit, cereal, yogurt, juice, tea/coffee, white/brown toast and choice of jams/honey) included. Will definitely stay here again when in area.

Great stay at the Don
Warm welcome, spacious room with fresh milk and water in bedroom fridge, so much nicer than little uht pots. Good value, well cooked meal in the bar with excellent real ale. Breakfast served within flexible timeframe and was again, very nicely cooked and plentiful. Would stay here again.

NOTE!! It is in a small village 30 minutes drive from Scunthorpe. My room was in a lodge at the end of the car park, quiet, good size, but not the warmest (I was actually cold) and poor wi-fi, also I could not get the shower to a usable temperature in the morning, so had to wash in the basin. Food nothing special.

Cold room and parking unsafe without video cameras
Room was cold and radiator was just warmish. In bathroom was very cold. Pillows where dirty and unchanged for a long time. There is no internet Wifi only in lobby but very bad. Parking is not safe and without video cameras. Breakfast was good english traditional, with some fresh fruits, yogurt. On the table was a bottle with water but unsealed and it is from the sink.
