Incredible Property
This was an incredible property. There were 3 bedrooms which each had a queen bed. 3 couples (6 people) stayed very comfortably. There were two full bathrooms. The property was fully stocked. The owners live next door and came and visited when we checked in and they were very friendly and helpful. This was one of the best and most beautiful homes I've stayed in. Would 100% recommend to anyone else in the future.

We had a fantastic stay at the Alaskan Sportsman’s Home in Seward. The bear-themed decor was charming, and the property was thoughtfully designed addressing all our needs. Spacious beds with firm mattresses ensured a great night’s sleep. The kitchen was well-equipped with sharp knives, themed tableware and useful gadgets making meal prep a breeze. Lona personally greeted us and provided useful tips that made our stay unforgettable.

Great place to stay
Our family of 5 adults had a great stay. Dean and Lona were very nice hosts - greeting us when we first came in and always responded quickly if we needed anything. Lots of outdoor amenities and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything u would need for meal prep. It is a short drive into Seward but we enjoyed staying in this quiet, comfortable home. Highly recommend.

Super Stay in Seward Alaska
My wife, my son, his wife and I had a wonderful time at Lona and Dean's place. Was great to have a roomy home with two full bathrooms, a great room and a well stocked kitchen. We grilled and made a picnic lunch in the outdoor shared shelter / picnic area (very nice). Shared the shelter with the next door rental but there was no conflict to access. The location was convenient; just barely outside seward and super close to exit glacier road. Highly recommend. We met Lona and Dean who were helpful, friendly and super hosts. During our stay we hiked exit glacier, lost lake trail, and Tonsina trail from Caines head to Lowell point. We kayaked Resurrection bay starting from Caines head and ending at Lowell point. We also took a all day boat tour starting from and returning to the port of Seward. This rental was a great spot for all of that and a nice place to recover / just hang out for some recovery time.

Bear-y delightful
This was my eighth year fishing in Seward and this house was far and away the most enjoyable. So many thoughtful amenities provided… Coffee maker already loaded up with coffee and water, slippers to keep our feet warm, well stocked kitchen, and unforgettable decor. Warning if you are a vegetarian, this is not the place for you! The menagerie of taxidermied animals was really cool, especially the big bear in the living room. Very comfortable beds and bathrooms, and host Lona was a delight… She even brought us some homemade bear paw cookies. I hope we can rent here next year!

Amazing Property to Stay While in Seward
I have been a regular VRBO renters for years. This property ranked among the best of my list. Owners, Lona and Dean, are responsive to email messages before and during our stay. Very personable in person, provided all the answers about things around the local areas. The property is meticulously clean, and attentive to details. The decorative (taxidermy) wildlife display in the living room is impressively beautiful. Everything we need was available. The outside pavilion, BBQ grill, and firepit were great amenities. Plenty of space for everyone. Great location for nature lovers. We had a wonderful time and will definitely choose this property for our next visit. Thank you, Lona and Dean, for sharing your beautiful home; we really appreciated your kindness.

Amazing Week
We had a great time staying at the house. We were a group of 7 adults, ranging in age from 37-75. Everyone really enjoyed the property. Plenty of room for all of us. We had a fire outside while playing cornhole and we sat around the kitchen/livingroom area and talked about our day while cooking dinner. The house has everything you could need for a weeks stay, including laundry. We lucked out and saw a moose from the back porch! The owners are super nice and quick to respond to any questions. Brought us cookies and fishing equipment and pointed us in the right direction to catch fish. I would highly recommend this property if you are visiting the area. We've stayed in the city of Seward many times, but we definitely preferred this house over all of our previous trips. It feels very remote while still being close to town.

Feels like home!
After staying at several other properties managed by companies, I still am so impressed with the cleanliness, thought, and supplies on hand in this beautiful cabin! It is very easy to tell Lona pays attention to detail and personally has contributed to this cozy home! Beds were comfortable and stocked with soft sheets, comfortable blankets, and pillows of varying firmness. Beautiful handmade comforters on every bed. The kitchen had every appliance we could dream of, and was beautiful, and fun to cook in. Looking over every surface, the home was pristine and very clean; much cleaner than a hotel. In addition, the outside area is full of fun activities for summer, including a fire pit, bags, and horseshoes. We wished we booked this amazing home longer. We did not meet Lona but enjoyed all her artwork that adorned the walls, and the bear paw cookies waiting for us in the kitchen. Dean greeted us upon arrival, and was very welcoming and kind. We had a wonderful stay!
