Hiker, mountain biker, surfer, or wildlife enthusiast, there's so much to love about this warm and welcoming home in Shelter Cove. In this secluded, scenic community on California's wild Lost Coast, you'll cap each day by soaking in the new six-person hot tub, telling stories around the gas firepit, and marveling at a truly spectacular starry sky.
As the southern terminus of the world-renowned Lost Coast Trail, Shelter Cove is a wonderful retreat for backpackers before or after their journey through the King Range National Conservation Area. There are a few restaurants within a quarter-mile, both a local brewery and a nine-hole golf course within one mile, and some amazing outdoor activities to be found nearby. The area is known for epic surfing, a fantastic network of trails built by the International Mountain Biking Association, and the beautiful Sinkyone Wilderness State Park with its herd of resident elk (25 miles).
One of the best features of this home is how dog-friendly it is, with a fenced dog run out back as well as bowls, toys, and a pair of dog beds inside. Families with children will also feel at ease here, thanks to the play nook in one of the bedrooms complete with bean bags, a starry light, kids' books, and art supplies.
Wake up each morning to a view of the ocean and open the windows to bring in the sounds of nature and the surrounding wildlife. The kitchen is open and breezy, allowing you to prepare breakfast overlooking the water. Throughout the rest of the day, you can walk to the beach, barbecue outside on the deck, play board games, and stream movies on one of the smart TVs. Bonus features of the house include a crow's nest-themed bedroom with a balcony, a redwood-themed bedroom with a standing desk and monitor, and both complimentary WiFi and a private washer/dryer for your convenience.
