The Great Escape - Near everything yet off the beaten path

Located in the Shenandoah Valley our cabin is located on a quiet street on a 1/2 acre lot. The backyard is fenced for big and small dogs. On the back porch is a nice gas grill. A few steps down is a hot tub. The hot tub is nice especially when returning home from a day of hiking in the Shenandoah National Park which is only 20 minutes away. Inside the home are two bedrooms, each with a king size bed. We furnish wireless internet and satellite TV. I will email you a list of activities that are all close to our cabin. There is something for everyone at The Great Escape.

Shenandoah Valley Retreat
We really enjoyed our time at this little cabin in the valley. Perfect size for couples or a small family. The dogs had a blast running around the fenced in backyard. It had basically every amenity you could ask for and may be the cleanest VRBO I’ve ever stayed in. It is perfectly situated between 2 entrances to Shenandoah National Park. Not terribly far from Shenandoah River State Park (recommended) and walking distance from George Washington National Forest. There are several small towns nearby with restaurants and groceries. We enjoyed Main Street in Luray with nice shops and restaurants complete with a river walk. The check in / out process was simple and the hosts, Don and Lin were welcoming and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to couples with dogs or small families.

We stayed for two nights and loved it! Beautiful, spacious CLEAN cabin! We loved the location near enough to Luray and New Market but in a quiet area! Also took a short hike right down the street from George Washington Forest! Everything was top@- notch!

We loved this cozy house. Super clean and had everything we needed. The pictures don’t do it justice. The fenced in back yard was perfect for our dog and they had a doggie basket will all our pets needs. We hiked daily at the NationalPark. Would stay here again!

Another wonderful visit to The Great Escape
We've stayed in multiple vacation rentals in Page County in the last few years. The Great Escape is by far our favorite. The house is larger than it appears in the photos. I consider it a "turn key" vacation home. Bring your clothes, toiletries, & food. Everything else is provided. The house clean and comfortable. The backyard is huge and securely fenced to keep your pups or children safely contained. Our dogs love having the room to run and play after being cooped up traveling. It's their vacation too! The host(s) are wonderful. They have provided a lot of information for the local area, everything from sightseeing to the closest medical and veterinary care. Response time is very fast. The hardest part of staying at The Great Escape is leaving.

Fantastic Property
If you're thinking of staying in the Luray Caverns area, this is the perfect spot! It's convenient to the caverns but also close to other hiking trails. Be sure to go into the small town and wander through the shops, too! My husband and two small pups (chihuahuas) thoroughly enjoyed the fenced in backyard as well! The fence is perfect to not let the little escape artists out while still being able to run around. We plan to return! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cabin to us <3

A Great Escape for Us!
The name of the cabin fits it so well because it was truly a great escape!!! My husband, I and our dog Maxi stayed for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday by relaxing. Again, the cabin fit the bill! The house was so relaxing. Keyless entry, super clean (and I am a cleanliness freak!), spacious and comfy, cable TV, fully stocked kitchen, fenced in backyard for the dog, and they even had little doggie bowls and toys for the dog. The owners really put a lot of thought into making the cabin the closest thing to a home away from home. Hubby left his hat at the cabin and owner sent it back to us no problem. Truly a great VRBO experience.

Great Weekend Away!

Before we even arrived, the owners sent out extensive information about things to do and what was nearby which was very helpful! The house was the perfect size for all of us and the fenced in back yard was perfect for our dog. We highly recommend this house!

My husband two pups and I had a wonderful quiet relaxing stay at Don and Lina’s place. It was perfect! Fast and easy communication with Don, well equipped, clean, cozy, just what we needed. We were there the week before the Holidays and they had a cute Christmas tree which made for great ambiance. The fenced in back yard was our favorite part, just because of the pups. Great Thanksgiving getaway
My husband and i wanted somewhere to have a quiet Thanksgiving where we could also take our great dane. This was the perfect place. Exactly as described. Well appointed kitchen. Lovely fenced in yard that allowed our big boy to roam safely while we enjoyed the hot tub. We both worked remotely the day after Thanksgiving and the internet was able to keep up. Great TV in the family room and master bedroom. Nice gas fireplace. Would have liked to have a fire in the backyard but that may be a bridge too far. Hosts were very responsive. Would definitely stay again.

my daughter and i and her dog had a very relaxing stay at the great escape. The house was spotless, the beds very comfy and the kitchen well equipped. The fenced in backyard was great for our pup since he tends to run away. All in all a delightful stay.
