Incredible White Water view! Gorgeous sunsets! Jacuzzi on deck/2 Flat screen TVs

Since our remodel 1.5 years ago we have a 4.8 Average review rating as of 11/20/21.
Both the Master and Loft have queen beds. Warning: The loft has a steep staircase and a low ceiling. It also has a low bannister overlooking the living room so not advisable for young children. There is an easy path down to the beach which is frequently strewn with driftwood. We notice some very careful people enjoy bonfires! Wake up to waves crashing beneath you. Brew a strong cup and start your morning back in the Jacuzzi or looking out from the cozy sunroom as the sun begins to illuminate the breaking waves underneath you! Stroll the beach with your doggy, explore the tide pools or fly a kite. Got a surf board? Join a few locals just 600 ft up the beach to a hollow wave break. Keep walking the long beach across the OR border to the ever-changing Winchuck river mouth. Look for the seal pups. Your cabin is fully equipped for me the owner and I enjoy cooking and all the amenities of this sweet cabin whenever possible! It is small but amazingly efficient and comfortable to maximize your connection to the surrounding environment
Remember to turn off the living room flat screen TV, at least for the magnificent sunsets. You won't regret it. Also you probably want to book enough days for exploring time nearby Brookings, the flowing rivers & of course the famous Redwoods.

No screens on any sliding glass doors...that is needed...laundry soap or fabric softener was overpowering....they should use unscented products...had to buy sheets to sleep in and use our iwn blankets.

Stunning location and easy beach access
Although the cabin is snug, the kitchen has plenty of room and is well equipped. The host thoughtfully provides coffee, plastic wrap and other items. The expansive view overlooks the ocean and beach—-from the living room, the deck and the hot tub. A great stay for us!

Spectacular & Serene Seaside Sanctuary!
We never wanted to leave & can't wait to go back! What a treat of a retreat! An oceanfront that we could bring our kids & fur babies & walk down to the mile long sandy beaches multiple times a day & then relax in the hot tub on the deck & watch the sunset, was a priceless experience! We never ate out! Why would we when you have an ocean view to enjoy from the kitchen, living room, sun room & deck? We left a couple of times for a redwood hike & fishing trip & then came back to our million dollar view and made fresh fish tacos with the ocean's breeze! This was by far, one of the best vacations/getaways that our family has ever had! We can't wait to stay again!

Great stay
It was a great stay. But there was some confusion at check in. We received a message to check in with the main office and get a parking pass, when we arrived we spent 20 minutes trying to find the main office and when came a cross a lady who informed us there isn’t a main office and there hasn’t been parking passes in over 3 years. Everything else was great though. Wonderful view!

We traveled 6 hours for our stay. We stopped to do our grocery shopping prior to arriving for check-in. When we arrived to our surprise there was no lock key located where it was supposed to be at. We tried the slider door and it was unlocked. When we entered the cabin was completely NOT ready for us. Not clean. Dirty towels. Dirty kitchen. Dirty Bedding. Mind you we traveled 6 hours, had cold food and 2 young children who had been in the car

The view is spectacular
We needed to be in communication with the host upon arrival and he was responsive immediately by phone and text. The view from the dexk was nothing short of spectacular and the cabin cozy. As a base for the Redwoods it cant be beat.

Wonderful Views and Close Beach Access
This is my 3rd (or 4th) time staying here. I have had to contact Host several times and he's always responded quickly when needed subsequently handling issues promptly. The view is wonderful on a clear day and the beach access is easy and close.

Beautiful views!
Our vacation had a big health interruption. We were late arriving and were able to still enjoy the vacation and rest with the beautiful ocean view and sounds. Our host was great. He communicated very well. My only suggestion is to add a curtain to the living room to block the sun and heat in the afternoon. Everything was very nice.

Beautiful location and great stay
Very comfortable, amenities were great and the cottage was adjacent to downtown Brookings. Walks along the back and views were spectacular. As a dog friendly stay, this was also a bonus for the entire family to enjoy a nice getaway along the coast.

Minor problems, mostly with security, otherwise fine.
The exterior light was burned out, we took care of that. Front lock box was open when we arrived, dead bolt does not work and keys need to be cleaned up along with handle lock. Toilet seat needs to be replaced, pretty gross. Minor things but minor things can make a big difference.

Horrible experience
Vacationers beware. I will start off by saying I made a booking mistake. My husband and I are both in public education and I intended to surprise our family with a trip to the coast over spring break... but I inadvertently booked the trip one week too early (when we are still in school and have parent-teacher conferences). I began trying to remedy the mistake within minutes of making the reservation. This owner is IMPOSSIBLE to work with. He refused to respond to my messages on VRBO, my phone calls, or my text messages. After countless calls/texts and one plea from my husband, he finally responded to my husband's text (not to me, the person who made the reservation). We spent the better part of a week trying to communicate with the owner. He would NEVER answer any of MY calls or messages, and only occasionally responded to my husband. He tried to put the problem off on VRBO, saying that I needed to contact them to solve the problem (VRBO clearly stated that the issue was out of their hands) ... he even lied about my efforts to resolve the issue within the "make modifications to reservation" timeframe. I am fully aware that this all started with a mistake I made. But please beware before booking. If you have an issue, this owner is IMPOSSIBLE to communicate with, concerned with HIS profits only, and has literally ZERO empathy or concern for anyone other than himself. Our family is out a considerable amount of money, and he is that much richer, for doing absolutely nothing.

Beautiful View
Absolutely stunning and gorgeous views of the ocean and beach. Hot tub over looks ocean and at night you can enjoy while listening to the crashing of the ocean waves and a glass of wine. Beautiful.

Lovely stay at the beach
Very comfortable stay, amazing views of the ocean and beach. Place is showing some signs of wear but was very clean and well appointed - kitchen had all we needed. Hot tub was wonderful. The only thing I would really like to have changed was that one of the double-glazed windows in the sliding glass door that gives the view over the beach has failed and has condensation between the two layers of glass, obscuring the view somewhat. In spite of this, would rent again!

This is such a great place to stay. Was very clean and the location was beautiful. The tiny house was cute and had all the amenities we needed, with the exception of a washer and dryer. If you’re looking for a place to stay on the ocean I highly recommend it.

Smith River stay
Great location and perfect lodging accommodations. Thanks to the host for great driving directions since it was a little tricky finding the resort at night in the fog. Only negative comment is that we were unable to watch real time TV. We ended up watching Netflix each night. Need more accurate instructions for setting up the TV.

Peaceful Little Cabin
Wow- what a wonderful little cabin! Had a small issue when we arrived as there was no key left to the house, but Gary was very responsive and apologetic. Luckily, since the sliding doors do not lock and are held in by wooden dowels or metal bars, one came loose so given how late it already was when we arrived, Gary had the key to us the next day. Besides that, yes the space is small and there is a small hot water tank but my husband and I were comfy- everything in the description and pictures were accurate. Gary was very knowledgeable and was happy to offer recommendations in the area. Would absolutely love to stay here again, the view is absolutely incredible, we loved opening up the doors despite it being a little chilly and rainy and just listening to the waves or taking a stroll along the beach! Thank you!!

What a gem!
Just wow! The location of this cabin is amazing. Right on a beautiful quiet beach. The cabin was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. We stayed here for 2 nights and I wish we would have time for more. The hot tub was very nice and a great place to soak in the evenings. We did not use the upstairs, but as stated, the stairs are a little steep but not too bad. The resort was very quiet even though it was busy. I hope to come back here again next year.

Stunning romantic view
We came here for our anniversary and we could not have been happier. The back porch view cannot be beat. We where doing a redwoods trip and where going to stay in crescent city for a couple days but after driving through crescent city I am so glad we opted for this location instead. This is about 1/2 mile from the Oregon boarder and the closest town is Brookings, OR. All of these little cabins are right on the ocean, this one has an unobstructed view of pelican state beach. The hot tub faces the ocean for an amazing sunset. We spent one full day out in the beach which was relatively empty, it was like our own private beach. Ate at Mattie’s pancake house for breakfast which was charming and delicious. The only drawback was the size of the bedroom, you can barely move around the bed in there, but just spend your time on the deck and living room. This place is well worth the price, it made our anniversary.

Renter Beware, ZERO stars, Dog Urine,Terrible Experience
I suggest a DIFFERENT, better and higher rated cabin at White Rock Resort. There are plenty to choose from. I WOULD NOT waste time or money on this place, it could end in regret like us. The cabin wasn’t cleaned from prior renters and reeked of dog urine so strong it made our nostrils burn. Dirty sheets, dirty towels piled in living room, dirty towels in bathroom, and various food/hair debris on counters and floor. We called the owner and he responded that he had his own issues(he locked his keys in his car) and stated,“What do you want me to do about it?” He said cabin wouldn’t be cleaned until 7PM, and didn’t provide follow up that night leading us to scramble to book last min motel. When contacted next day he acted absentminded, not recalling our situation, and was dismissive of our concerns. He denied a dog urine odor ever existed. The owner mentioned a refund for the 1st night we were unable to stay. Later he denied a refund endorsing he didn’t want to be out the money with a possibility of getting a bad review! We finally got a refund from VRBO(not owner)after a lengthy process. A family vacation was ruined by the stress of dealing with awful customer service, communication and property management by owner. I suggest reading prior reviews as it confirms our experience of foul odors, poor hot tub heat, and incompetent/horrible rental service/experience by owner. We finished our stay out of mere desperation but don’t recommend this place at all.
