An authentic slice of paradise
We have just completed our 11 nights stay at Banana Quit and we feel as if we visited the paradise. It was a special family celebration, so we were 3 families - 4 children aged 6-15 and 5 adults. I can’t quite describe how breathtaking the view from the house is. Even after those 11 days, we still stop to take it in several times a day. The house is immense, with an authentic Caribbean feel and all the modern luxuries. Do not expect modernistic architecture and minimalistic kitchen, but a very real, extremely spacious and delightfully decorated Caribbean house, adorned with local flowers. The common space is incredible - it is so spacious: there are several areas to enjoy meals with the view of the Pitons from different angles, and another several lounging areas. The pool is really large and quite deep, and with the stunning view - all our kids are good swimmers and divers so we all enjoyed it around the clock. You will be surrounded by the tropical forest so expect to be immersed in sounds and views of nature. We absolutely loved it and enjoyed every minute of it. I can’t remember last time I slept so soundly. The setup includes a lovely and discreet housekeeping team who cleaned and cooked. The team finish at 3pm so in the evening we had the full privacy to enjoy the delicious meal cooked a couple of hours earlier. It worked really well for us. We rented cars (4x4 is useful) and used Anse Chastanet beach and scuba centre. Beautiful! Morning market in Soufriere is great too

Beautiful home in paradise
We had a great time at Banana Quit. Group of 9 ladies. The house is outstanding in every way, the view of the Piton’s is amazing from the patio. The house service was great, great food from Margaret the chef. One very important shout out to Nimrod Vincent our driver, he was absolutely amazing he always picked us up promptly and would wait on us when we were out. Please request his service. We would not change one thing about our trip it was over the top.

No Luxury Experience
The house offers lovely views and an infinity pool (almost no shade) but doesn't meet luxury standards at any price. It's run down and needs major upgrades. We experienced multiple water outages. Two bedrooms had broken A/C, and the rooms had unclosable windows, only mosquito nets, making working A/C ineffective due to humidity and the fact they’re open to the outside. One suite was unusable due to intense chlorine smell (also very dark w/ low ceilings). Several bathrooms lacked towel and toilet paper holders. Breakfast service started 10AM, which is far too late for families w/ little kids. Dinner was delicious but the staff leaves early, so its “served” by being left on the stove when they leave. Non-working dishwasher so big mess overnight but the staff kept the house very clean. Fruit bats nesting in the rafters (again, the house is totally open) posed a serious concern (rabies anyone?). The 1st night included rum punch and a snack; afterward, we were on our own as the staff was gone when we got back from the beach. Advertised beach access was misleading; it's a challenging 30-40 min walk or an 8-min drive. The house is best for a bachelor party or folks who just need a lot of rooms. The house manager, was very responsive. I suspect he would love to fix all of these things but is not empowered to. Manager will ask for exorbitant fee to use credit card to settle the grocery bill. Overall, the house's condition and misrepresentations significantly affected our experience

Best view in the world!! Bumpy road up to the house. We had a great trip with our family of 7. The bedrooms can get hot as they have small ac air units and some of the plugs didn’t work. Jason is always quick to respond. Margaret is a great chef. Kendy is a great driver. The beach really isn’t walking distance but you can call for your driver. There are no TVs or cable in the house. About an hour drive from the airport, but the driver made it a smooth process. We all loved the house and would love to come back. Overall 5/5 best part of the house is the view of the pitons.

1st time to St. Lucia
The view of the pitons and ocean from the Bananaquit house is stunning! There were 11 people in our group and we had a lovely time at the house. We have been to a lot of houses with chefs and they are each a bit different. Margaret is a wonderful cook! We had two meals a day and the evening meal was left on the stove for us to serve ourselves. They made an extra trip to the grocery store midweek and once we paid a driver to bring us water. The communication with Jason, the house manager, was great. He is quick to answer emails and line up drivers. We enjoyed eating at the Rabot Restaurant, sitting in the mineral springs, hanging out at the beach below, spear fishing and drinking rum punch around the pool. We rented a catamaran for a half day where we snorkeled and also received massages by the pool. It rained the day we were supposed to hike the pitons. I wouldn't classify Bananaquit as a luxurious house which I would have expected with the price. It was beautifully decorated with local decor. We took many cold showers and my husband would have liked some dessert.

Great vacation
The house is stunning! It really is as good or better than the photos. The beds were comfy and the house was always kept clean. The staff were really good at what they do. Margaret AND Asha are amazing cooks. If we came to St lucia again with a group we would stay here again. Some tips for future travelers: about a month out Jason, the property manager, will send you information about your stay and send you a menu and a grocery sheet to fill out. Ignore the “menu” because you actually just choose meats off of the grocery list and Margaret will make different dishes based on those main items. We never knew what we were eating until we sat down for the meal. Be prepared that when it rains, it’s likely that the wifi and the US outlets will go out. There is a breaker in the house and all you have to do is reset it but I would have them show you where it is just in case you need it. Bring lots of bug spray. You will have an assigned cab driver but every trip is it’s own charge. The price is extremely reasonably though. For 3 trips to the airport, 2 excursions and 1 dinner it was a little over $300(which is less than we’ve spent on Ubers in other trips). Food pricing wasnt bad either, it was about $1000 including the service charge for 5 adults for 5 days. This included a lot of rum punch and an extra food run during our stay. Tips can be made in cash in a little box at the house or via credit card. We have a walk through video on YouTube of the house under “Bri & D Living”

LOVE Banaquit!!!
Our family had the BEST vacation in St. Lucia at the Banaquit house. Asha and Margaret- the two house ladies- greeted us each morning with a smile and made sure we had delicious food and a clean home. This is luxury living! The views from the house are unmatched and you’re just a 15 min (downhill and then very steep uphill climb back) walk to the beach! We recommend Anse Mamin over Anse Chasanet. Michael, the groundskeeper, is very friendly- he will bring you fresh fruit right from the grounds if you ask him to- we can still take the delicious Soursop and Mango! The icing on the cake is having a personal driver who knows the area and the people. Kendy is very friendly and we felt very safe on those mountain roads in the car with him. If you’re looking to be pampered in a unique, luxurious jungle island oasis- this is the place for you!!! Make sure to take care of each of the staff individually at the end- they will be so grateful to you!

Amazing!! Priceless Memories!!
I celebrated my 50th Birthday with Family and Friends and Bananaquit and I enjoyed every minute. When I walked in they had the table set and dinner prepared (our flight was delayed and they waited) they ladies who cook and do housekeeping for you are so sweet and make you feel at home. The food was delicious. Jason the house manager the night of my actual Birthday brought cake and decorations and made sure all of the food items I requested were prepared for my Birthday. Now back to the house the view the view the view; Gods beauty is amazing, priceless view! The rooms are spacious and slept 14 of us comfortably. The pool was refreshing, clean and great size. Jason arranged for massages by the pool for us on Day 2, best massage I had in a long time. Our house Driver Kendy I can not say enough about. He was kind, helpful and made sure we felt safe everywhere we went. We love you Kendy!! Remember Saint Lucia is an Island so the steep rough road to the house is what gives you the million dollar view. We were going to rent 2 vans at first but because we arrived late one van was gone so we opted to just use their transportation. And All though this decision was made when we landed Jason quickly had drivers at the airport to get us all to Villa. You will spend more using Transportation Service (especially if a group) but well worth it. Jason also arranged a Catamaran day for us for my Birthday afternoon and it was the highlight of our trip. Sam, Jason, Kendy, Margarot(cook) and the 2 beautiful other house ladies made sure my milestone Birthday was amazing. I will be back next Year!! Bananaquit house with it open air concept gives you the amazing Island charm!!!

Making Memories
Beautiful home and the best staff ever-they made us feel like royalty. Many many thanks to Margaret who was the most amazing cook-we will miss those amazing dishes you cooked for us everyday. And to Asha who was like a ninja picking up after us and making sure everything was constantly clean and the fresh flowers on our beds. . And to Michael who kept our pool and grounds beautiful. And to Bates our driver who catered to taking us everywhere we needed to go. And last but not least to Jason who made all of reservations, put up with our constantly changing schedule, and keeping our bar stocked! The Villa was perfect ... all 8 of us enjoyed every minute. You will not be disappointed booking this property. Our only issue had nothing to do with the Villa but with finding ATM machines so bring more cash than you would normally travel with as you will want to make sure you take good care of all the wonderful people that take such good care of you❤️

Absolutely Amazing
Everything was absolutely incredible! Came here with 9 other girls for me sister and her best friend bachelorette and could not have been more impressed. The staff at this house is so beyond helpful and so sweet. The two cooks, Asha and Margarette, had all of the food and beverages bought a and ready to go, came every morning and made the most amazing food, both requested items and items that were traditions on the island. Each night they had our meals ready to be to be warmed up when we were ready. They kept the house clean and organized as well as had our rooms freshened up with new towels and beds made. The drivers, Bob and Kendi, were so great. They helped us coordinate transportation to and from the airport, to any excursions, to get my alcohol (because we of course ran out lol). The house manager, Jason, we so accommodating to all of our request. He helped coordinate our covid tests prior to leaving the island and coordinated our dinner reservation at Hotel Chocolat for our farewell dinner. Lastly, communication with Jason could have not been any better. Any questions or concerns were responded to pretty much immediately. My sister and I arrived a few hours prior to everyone else and he was there to great us and give us a tour of the house. All around we were all so impressed by our entire stay. I could not have asked for a better location to celebrate my sister and her best friends bachelorette. Can’t wait to hopefully come back soon!

Wow...! I’m impressed!!
I cannot say enough good things about our experience here. We numbered 11 total (all adults) for this trip and every touch point from arrival, transportation, the beauty of the house (oh my!) the location, the meals (I’m stuffed) the views, the pool, the spaciousness...! To make eleven adults happy is no easy task but this home catered to all of our needs and wants...and then some! We have another group of relatives arriving today for another week of fun in the sun and I am absolutely certain they will be just as impressed as I have been. Thank you to everyone for a dream come true.

Finally a villa worthy of me
The above line was stated by one of our friends as we walked down the flower lined entry to the house overlooking the Pitons against the setting sun. The villa was probably the best part of our stay in St. Lucia. We were 4 adults, 5 children (ages 3-9). Because of the kids, we were limited in our excursions so we picked Soufriere as a quieter getaway. The staff are friendly and helpful. Asha and Margaret kept the villa clean daily as well as made us food as requested. I agree that their cooking rivaled the restaurants, so we mostly ate at the house. Jason who managed the house locally purchased groceries for us with a 15% service charge. The house is not sealed so having the ladies do daily housekeeping was great. They also refreshed our rooms, did our laundry and stocked the towels, so this turned out to be essentially an all-inclusive experience. The rooms were clean with air conditioning (even though, the window slats were open to the outdoors), and we actually found the A/C was too cold, so we just used the ceiling fan at night. The mosquito nets were not an issue. We ran out of water once, but Michael who looked after the pool and maintenance we up right away and restored service within 20 minutes. Other than that, wifi was good, a TV was available if you got bored of the gorgeous views, the pool was a hit and the kids spent hours every day in it. Bananaquit is about 15-20 minute walk to a nice beach Anse Chastanet with what is reputed the best snorkeling on the island. Our kids did the hike up and down without issues a couple of times, except for the 3 year old who had to be carried. It is close to the Mud Baths, the drive in volcano, and Gros Piton Hike. Tet Paul Trail is close too, and as a tip, much cheaper than Gros Piton and personally I think better views. We visited a cocoa tour, the restaurant at Hotel Chocolat and Bamboo Restaurant. Transportation for all 9 of us was a van by Bob who was a good driver. If you intended to tour the island a lot, I'd recommend a rental car because of cost, but the road up to the villa is doable but daunting. Overall, an excellent stay, and definitely was one of the highlights of St. Lucia for us.

Family Holiday Trip
The views from the house were spectacular...but that is where it ends...the property manager did not meet us at the house on arrival nor departure...the cook and maid met gave the key and left...nothing was explained regarding the house...the worst is the refrigeration...the main refrigerator was broken...a secondary refrigerator....the freezer worked but the refrigerator couldn't cool properly...there were several small refrigerators...two of the three functioned...there were also several plumbing issues... a water pipe broke and "rained" upon lower bedroom...water completely out in another bathroom...at times low pressure issues in other bathrooms..just poor communication...the house was spacious...the bedrooms and bathrooms were ok...soap only...overall it needs a makeover...Sam, the absentee owner, did make a small refund for all the inconveniences...we paid a premium for the holidays and expected a home in premium condition and it wasn't.

Our extended family gathered in St Lucia to celebrate two major life events and Banana Quit House was a perfect setting. From the unique setting to the spectacular views to the fantastic staff we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We had something for everyone; wreck diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, volcano, waterfall, rainforest, and just sitting by the pool with a rum drink looking at The Pitons. A fantastic place for family and friends to gather.

Wedding week stay
We hosted most of our guests here while having our wedding on St Lucia. The house was big and airy. Margerite, Asha, and Michael (staff) were amazing. Small issues we had with AC and water pressure were attended to promptly. I was a little confused about the food ordering process but all went smoothly in the end. Beautiful views, beautiful house. The one downside is that as most of the doors am have slats in them, there’s not a lot of privacy for noise or otherwise. The two rooms in the basement with the most privacy don’t have bathrooms as new or a view that is as pleasant as the others. The road leading up to the villa is as steep and bumpy as others say. We rented a car and it was fine, but if you’re at all timid about driving up steep roads and turning around right turns, use one of the many recommended drivers. We walked down (and back up) to Jade Mountain Anse Mamin, and Anse Chastanet several times and enjoyed the snorkeling and beaches there as well as some hikes on the property.

Beautiful villa in a idyllic location
We had the most amazing time at Bananaquit House! The villa is really beautiful, loads of space, wide views of sea and the pitons. The staff are lovely, they look after you, make you feel at home and cook really tasty Caribbean dinners so you can focus on unwinding! The road leading up to the house is very windy and bumpy but adds to the experience, would recommend hiring a car or booking taxis to get around. Anse Chastnet beach is a walk or short drive away and you can find the best fish burgers in town on a more secluded beach around the bay. Highly recommend!

Spacious and relaxing property with the best view on the Island.
The property is fantastically located with great views of Soufriere and the Pitons. It's very peaceful, bar the occasional party boat passing by in the bay below. It's a great base for exploring the South of the island or just relaxing with a book on the terrace. Rooms are all large and come with mosquito nets (which you should use). The common areas are large, spacious and very clean. The swimming pool is of a decent size and has a great view of the sunset in the evenings. There are table tennis tables near the pool but the paddles have suffered a bit in the tropical climate so it would be worth bringing your own. Anse Chastenet and Anse Mamin beaches (I prefer Anse Mamin) are fairly easily walkable from the house but it's a hot climb back up :) The staff are very friendly and helpful with cooking and laundry on request. They did some great local side dishes for us that lasted a couple of days in the fridge and served us for lunch and dinner. The roads are not great in the immediate surroundings, so local taxis are probably the way to go for transport. Overall we had a great time.

Beautiful House with Wonderful Staff
We stayed at the house with 4 other couples, everyone had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and the staff are wonderful. The pictures cannot portray how wonderful the view, the pool and the rooms are. This was a great fit for what we wanted to do. We had rental cars, so we were able to go wherever we wanted when we were out and about. If you are not familiar with the road to Anse Chastenet it is a very rough road, but once you are use to the drive it is not a problem.

A positive but mixed Review
Our eight adult family members had mixed reviews. All agreed that the views were incredible, great location, staff eager to please, great cooks, flexible to meet our needs. Planning and accurate communication were important when it comes to meals. Mixed reviews centered around the house being an open-air design…meaning that there are no screens or glass windows…only wood shutters. Some of us loved the loud nature noises at night. Some of us loved bananaquit birds joining us for meals. Most found the mosquitoes tolerable. Some were not bothered by the occasional bats flying around nor the constant dampness. Yet others were not so accepting. The open-air design would be a 10 for some and lower for others. Air Conditioned bedrooms and mosquito nets helped greatly. I would guess the house was built in the seventies so some things are showing age, e.g., shutters not easily movable, doors sticking, electrical breakers switching off during heavy rains, aging appliances, etc. Yet the staff were on call 24/7 to correct any major issues that may happen. Our mixed reviews depended on one’s expectations, tolerance, and visiting in the wet season. If you want to hermetically seal yourself from St. Lucia’s nature, I suggest a hotel. But if you want to experience the true wonders of a tropical rainforest and wake up to the best view in St. Lucia, then Bananaquit is the place for you. Some of us would rate Bananaquit a 10…other family members not quite as high.
