Great location. The Hotel is in desperate need of renovations to the rooms. The room must have been a consistent 80 degrees with no way to turn down the temp. This is beautiful historic building in a great location and worth a try if you're into ghosts.

It's not a flashy hotel. In fact it's rather old school. But it's clean and the rates are very reasonable. If I ever come back to Chicago I'll be staying here again.

You can tell that management has tried to keep the property up but there are still several shortfalls. Lots of deferred maintenance. Toilet was barely attached to the floor. Shower had a very cheap tub insert. The room and sheets reeked of mold and mildew. No trash can in the room. Overall floor was clean and paint was near but it still felt a little dirty. Check in staff wasn’t overly friendly either. Overall experience was average at best.

I generally enjoy the Congress Hotel - the history and the gorgeous lobby - however our room this time was disappointing - toilet ran constantly and there was no hot water this morning. We were in the south tower, last stay was great in the north tower. They also never seem to have enough staff working in the bar. Hope it’s better next time because it is an iconic hotel and great location
