We made s mistake with the reservation and arrived a day late. The staff was extreemly courteous and helpful. They reactivated our reservation and gave us a room overlooking our error.

No disclosure that Hotel operating a shelter, in Hotel. I certainly pay fair share of taxes, to help honeless. But when i arrive on vacation, to visit kids at Boise State, i certainly dont need/want them in Lobby, and prooerty. Unconfortable, didnt feel safe, wont stay again. Its a shame. Red Lion used to be reputable hotel chain..

Bathroom door would not shut, could see it had been pryed open at some point, bathroom tub would not drain, second sink outside bathroom would not drain, towel rack outside bathroom broken and sitting on the floor below sink, bed skirt had who knows what on it, was filthy, desk had one wheel broken off so was lop sided and wobbly, cupboard door where fridge was would not close…the pool and hot tub were so dirty, algae everywhere, not kept up at all, no idea when it had last been cleaned, disappointing seen as our hotel choice is very often based on having a hot tub for after long drives. Door to pool not locked, watched a homeless dude take a bath in the pool!!! Carpets in hallways were stained and not vacuumed in quite some time. Rooms and hallways stunk like stale smoke, weird since it was non smoking. We would not recommend nor stay here again.

This property is in serious need of a renovation. The furniture was filthy and even had a leg missing on one piece. We had at least 6 burnt out light bulbs in the first room they gave us and several in the second room. The counters in the room had food on them as they were obviously not cleaned. They had to change rooms for us 3 times till they found one for us that was somewhat acceptable but still not great. We were shocked to see this at a Red Lion property. I don't understand how you can have several rooms with burnt out light bulbs and the cleaning staff not getting them changed out. My brother and his wife also stayed on the property and had to change rooms as well. I normally will never write a bad review but this was unacceptable.

Wow. Where to begin. I guess you get what you pay for. The hot tub was broken, no bubbles, but they let people use it. Literally anyone, in fact, because there’s no lock on the gate. The water in the pool was literally green. The AC in my room didn’t work. They sent a repair guy. He got the fan to work, but when I adjusted the temp, it stopped working. Needed a replacement coffee maker, because that didn’t work either. The staff was nice and friendly. And there was a breakfast that had eggs and sausage and stuff like that. But the rest of the hotel really needs some attention.

There was so much dirt in the room, the ac unit rattled all night long, no coffee, a leak and almost fell in the bathroom.

Decent place to stay. All the staff was cool. Breakfast ends to early. Bacon was always burnt. Most lobby amenities is either closed or shut down. Possibly from higher then avg Housless traffic. They were nice as well. 5th floor has a fun view facing downtown.

Front desk staff was extremely unfriendly when checking in. Room was very dirty, garbage and hair on the floor. When we came back from dinner there was a homeless man sleeping on the floor next to the elevators. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We checked in and were allocated a room. Once in the room we found it to be very unclean and not all of the sheets were on the beds. We were offered another room. Went to the 2nd room and found it to be worse. I needed a clean room because I was having surgery the next morning, but that shouldn’t be an excuse to have a clean room. We went to front desk and asked if we could please have a clean room. We were told that we probably wouldn’t get one any cleaner unfortunately. We were then offered a 3rd room, a suite. Filthy! Snot all over walls, hair in shower drain, hair and dirt around tub, crumbs all over the floors, moldy food in the corners of windows, something that looked like candle wax that had dripped down the walls and into puddles on the floor. Dead spiders in drawers and old food. AC didn’t work so we were given 2 fans. One fan took off like it was possessed! We asked for disinfectant spray and rags. My daughter went to cleaning the room herself. We decided to go for dinner before it was too late for me to eat prior to surgery. During that time we found another hotel we could go to. We returned to the Red Lion and collected our belongings. We were told that we would have to pay for one night, per policy, even though we hadn’t been one hour in the hotel in total and we cleaned the room for them! I told the guy at front desk 3 times that I was having spinal surgery and just wanted a clean room! Called corporate, supposed to be getting full refund inc damage fee.

When I checked in fo my 8 night stay, the desk attendent only made a key for my room that was good for one day. As a result I had to return to the desk to get the key changed out. She thought it was due to my key being too close to my phone or something and she redid the keys for one more day. After a second trip back to the desk I finally got someone who realized what the problem was. I couldn't call the desk or housekeeping because my room phone was absolutely dead. The hotel is located in a nasty neighborhood but is relatively close to down town. On Labor Day no breakfast was served and although I realize that they were trying to respect their staff, that was inconvenient. I will not stay there again.
