You are looking at a 170 year old church located in Spring Mills, PA about 30 minutes from State College, and within easy reach of Millheim and Lewisburg.
The space
This historic building is a former church built in 1848. Each morning light shines through the large, antique stained glass windows, as the sun rises over a spectacular view of the valley. This timber framed church is one of the oldest buildings in the area, and is a local landmark. It was was deconsecrated in 2000. I purchased the property in 2013, and began converting it into a home, and I am very pleased to be able to open the space to share with guests.
Inside the interiors are bright, open and contemporary. The church is comprised of a large open plan living/dining room and two bedrooms. Each private bedroom has a queen size bed and there is a lovely secluded sleeping area in the main space, there is a futon in the sitting area as well, so we can accommodate 8, and arrangements can easily be made for additional bed space.
There is a light filled full bathroom with shower and large clawfoot bathtub, the kitchen is fully equipped, the dining table can seat 10 (additional tables and seating are available upon request), and in the comfortable sitting area there is a large screen television with dvd player, and stereo system. I have lived in this space with my young daughter, and I consider it to be very kid friendly; the cardboard castle is usually quite popular!
The open floor plan is very flexible, and the arrangement can be modified to meet your needs.
There is a chimnea in the side yard under the shade of two lovely maple trees for fires.
