We were slightly nervous about renting during COVID times but we needn’t have worried. The house was immaculate, incredibly well organised and a true home from home. We had a few days of bad weather but the house was warm and comfortable, and it was wonderful watching the stormy seas. When the sun did shine for us we could appreciate how beautiful it would be in the summer.
The beds are very comfortable and the furnishings upstairs better than they appear in the photos, as new bedside furniture has obviously been purchased. Unusually for a rental home there were plentiful lamps, good lighting, plenty of sockets and really good showers (and bath). The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of basics supplied. One hint - switch on the oven at the wall switch and then press the clock button to make it operative.
We didn’t go out to eat much because of COVID but we did eat at Taste, which was excellent for both lunch and dinner. Book in advance if you want a Saturday though. We also ate at The Taphouse which was ok, and had a surprisingly good takeaway Sunday roast lunch from The Driftwood Spars.
Beach wise, we really liked Chapel Porth, with the caves at low tide. There are so many lovely beaches and headlands that you’ll find your own favourites. Walking is of course excellent and right outside the front door. Talking of outside the front door, there is definitely room for two large cars to park on the driveway.
We had one issue with the electrics whilst we were there, which we reported to the owner. They had an electrician there within about half an hour, who diagnosed an external fault. The owners then contacted Western Power Distribution who repaired the fault (caused by storm damage and affecting several immediate neighbours) quickly. They then checked with us that all was ok. Thank you both, and thanks for sharing your home with us.
