The property is somewhat dated and dilapidated. There were over a dozen leaks in the building after a night of torrential rain. I returned to a room on the second floor with a a huge puddle of water pooling on the window ledge above the HVAC. The carpet was completely soaked for about 5” from the leak. The friendly staff moved me to a new room, but there was grime on the desk and nightstands. Baffled that the place had a wonderful guest rating.

While the room was nice, my experience with the hotel restaurant was truly atrocious. At check- in I received a coupon for a free drink, redeemable at Eclipse, the hotel restaurant. When I tried to use it at dinner, the waitress was saying she was unfamiliar with the coupon, didn’t know what it was or how to use it and proceeded to call her supervisor on the phone while standing by our table. The supervisor didn’t pick up, so she continued calling. All in all, the waitress’s behavior seemed plain rude. While handing us the bill, she stood over me to see how much I would tip her and to take the signed receipt right away. While the food wasn’t bad, the experience was greatly soured by the waitress’s strange ( almost bullying) behavior.

From the time we met Al the valet guy all the way to the rooftop bar the staff were extremely friendly and courteous. The ambiance of the hotel and surrounding area are wonderful. This was by far the most chill relaxed hotel I have ever stayed at, and staying there for another weekend in April. Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Thank you moonrise hotel and staff for a wonderful time.
