Our house (125 sqm) is located in the historic district of Stühlingen in the southern Black Forest, was built in 1768 and completely renovated in 2014.
The "Städtle" is very quiet.
It has a typical German restaurant within walking distance.
In the "village", approx. 15 min. walk, there are shopping facilities such as Rewe, Norma, Pennymarkt, dm etc. and other restaurants and cafés.
Of course, the whole house is at the guests' disposal.
The ground floor is furnished as a kitchen, dining room and living area and has a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, cooker, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, a DAP radio with CD, USP connection and of course a TV in 43 inches that works via the Internet / SAT - system.
Tenants can subscribe to Netflix or Amazon Prime with their own subscriptions. Children's painting materials, books and games for the not so nice days
are also available.
On the 1st floor there is an anteroom with an adjoining bedroom in which a double bed (160x200cm) plus a baby travel bed (120x70 incl. mattress, blanket, pillow and bed linen) as well as a separate WC with washbasin. A high tub for babies is also available.
On the 2nd floor there is a bedroom with two beds (80x200cm).
There is also a shower with washbasin and WC.
During the winter time the house is heated by two pellet stoves. The stoves are filled by the landlord during this time. If the filling is not sufficient during longer stays, you can buy more pellets in 15 kg bags from the landlord for the purchase price. Unfortunately, we have been forced to do this by inconsiderate tenants.
The house is close to the Swiss border and is ideally situated for excursions to Switzerland such as Schaffhausen - Rhine Falls, Lake Zurich with the adjacent old town of Stadelhofen, the Aare Gorge as well as various ski areas which can be reached in winter in approx. 2h driving time.
In Stühlingen itself there is an open-air swimming pool, as well as in the neighbouring Swiss communities the open-air swimming pools of Schleitheim and Wilchingen or the natural swimming pool of Beringen.
Many hikes can be reached on foot, by car or by public transport in the immediate vicinity.
For example, there is the Sauschwänzlebrücke - directly on the Wutach round from Lausheim-Blumegg or the Wutachflühen viewpoint - Hohle Gasse round from Grimmelshofen with Sturzdobel waterfall.
In the immediate vicinity, of course, the Black Forest with its attractions and excursions such as Rothaus, the Schlühüwanapark nature discovery trail (particularly suitable for families), the Schluchsee, Tittisee, Feldsee/Feldberg, the Belchen, the Bernauer Alp, the Wutachschlucht, Schluchtensteig, Affenberg Salem, Steinwasenpark, the 3 Seendampfbahn the Sauschwänzlebahn in Blumberg etc.
On the designated hiking trails there are usually small mountain huts, so that the physical well-being is provided with local products.
Examples include the Krunkelbachhütte near Bernau, St. Wilhelmerhütte, Zastler Hütte, Baldenweger Hütte all on the Feldberg, the Raimartihof on the Feldsee or the Bergasthof Hasenhorn near Todtnau with its adjacent summer toboggan run.
Even an excursion to Alsace (France) or the Swiss Jura can be reached in just under 2 hours. The A81 motorway is about 25 minutes away.
Constance, Singen and Lake Constance are about 80 km away.
Freiburg is also 80 km away, and you should definitely plan a trip to the Schwarzwald swimming paradise near Tittisee with its 23 slides and much more. Mega fun" for families with children.
You can experience something different every day. Otherwise, you can always ask the landlords about excursions.
Public transport (bus), which can be reached on foot in 2 min,
drive to Waldshut - Tiengen every 30 minutes from 6 am - 10 pm.
Now and then also the train, if it works ;-)
The network is still being developed.
