Overall pleasant stay
There was a bit of miscommunication with the owner when arriving at the property and we couldn't get in. There was frustration because we couldn't get a hold of anyone to help with the issue. Finally, the owner reached me to indicate the code he sent was incorrect. Once I had the correct code, we were able to get into the home. The house was clean and perfect size for our group. The view was beautiful right on the water. We'd like to go back when it's warmer to take advantage of the canoe and paddle boat.

I love this cabin
This was our 3rd time staying at this cute cabin. I think it is perfect. It's cabin-y cozy, yet open and spacious. Two baths and basement bedroom provide privacy for an extended family stay. It's got everything you want or need--sauna, games, tv room, streaming, view...you name it. Highly recommend.

Beautiful and peaceful location
This was a lucky find for us since our previous VRBO cancelled us about 6 weeks prior to our scheduled dates. This place was nicer all around. Peaceful on the island,very little traffic. Very beautiful views including the bald eagles that we saw each day. We had no problems with the water or plumbing. The kitchen was nicely equipped. The sandy beach was a hit with the grandkids and a nice walk out to it, a gradual descent to the water line,not a ton of steps. Spacious seating for everyone to spread out. Decorated beautifully. He has been making improvements that will make this gem even more of a treasure. He was easy to work with and helped us with making room for our boat rental. He answered all our questions promptly. We had a great time with our family there. We hope to return again.

Private lake gem!
We were two couples looking for a week to relax and spend time on the water fishing and boating. This place fit the bill very nicely! Nice sized bedrooms up and down, so there was privacy for everyone! big screen TV upstairs and down that had plenty to offer! The best feature on the property is the newly redone sand beach and fire pit area! We spent many hours around the fire enjoying the privacy and beauty of the lake! Sturgeon Lake is very clean and the boat landing is very nice and easy to use! If there was any negative, we brought our own boat and it would have been nice to be able to. tie up at a section of the dock overnight, but we were able to just tie up on the beach, which was actually very easy for getting in and out of the boat! A great place! We plan to go back again!

Wonderful house for our cousin reunion with so much space . The sunrises, loons, eagles were fun to watch and listen to. Wish there were a few suggestions of hiking, biking places nearby and maybe a few more hand towels but still a 5 star!!

So convenient to step out the basement door for snowshoeing and walking on the lake. The basement game room was a hit for movies, games, foosball, puzzles. Sauna a nice bonus!

Quintessential Minnesota Cabin
We loved our time at this cabin...everything was just perfectly cozy and restorative...not a sound, quiet, quiet. The decor is a combination of woodsy and beautiful antique furniture. The pictures don't fully capture the wonderful energy of this Minnesota cabin on a charming little island. Everything was decorated for Christmas which was extra sweet. A perfect haven that stirs up a nostalgic connection to nature and all good things. Everything we needed and more.

The property has great views and is a charming cabin. The layout was fun for the longer weekend, plenty of games and great set ups to watch movies! The water is definitely well water, we did not drink it but brought enough water to drink and cook with. I would recommend lake showers only. The fireplace made the kitchen and seating area comfortable but but downstairs had a hard time heating up, extra blankets are around but we brought an extra blanket for the downstairs bed (I am a cold sleeper but my friends who are warm sleepers said they didn't have a problem). Loved the sauna, needs to be set up about 20/30 minutes before getting in. The porch was a nice area and so was the backyard!

I love this place
Our second time staying at this great cabin, and it has gotten even better. New fun games, new bunk beds, etc. The view across the lake at the picturesque farm is so lovely. It is charming and comfortable. I want to stay again soon!

Private Lake Getaway
Very enjoyable property right on the lake with private dock and spacious flat lawn backyard. Great amenities. More than a view of the lake - fishing, canoe and peddleboat access allows great lake time. Great sunrise views from wrap around porch. Fire inside or out. Large island kitchen was comfy. Even a sauna downstairs. Good TV and high speed internet. House could use a bit of updating and repair, but was good for the price. We really had a good time. Host was helpful and very responsive. Recommended.

Beautiful Lake, quiet location, great fishing
The water "problem" that others had referenced has been fixed and we had no problem taking showers while flushing toilets.. Garbage was an issue when evidently someone complained about the garbage container being left up on the road. It is only supposed to be up on the road Mondays and Tuesdays. We are elderly and my wife was cold (during heat wave) and there is no way to adjust the temperature, it is all preset at 77F. Grand-kids loved fishing from the dock and watching grandpa chase the geese (35 of them) from pooping on the lawn. We had no problem catching 8 inch + sunnies for two weeks. Bring at least a 75 foot extension cord if you need to charge trolling motor batteries at the dock. Large sunnies were at 20-25 foot depths near sharp drop offs from weed lines.

A nice family get away
We enjoyed a very nice get away at this cabin. The beds were comfortable. The owner very nice and easy to work with. The foosball table provided lots of fun family time! The wi-fi was good for my high schooler to attend classes as needed. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The bathrooms could use updating. I debated submitting this review, because I don't want to be overly critical, but as a traveler I rely on reviews to give me a sense of what to expect. The biggest negative to the cabin is the water/septic situation. There is very little water pressure. The renters are advised in the information booklet provided by the owner to take "lightning fast" showers, or lake showers when possible. Obviously in March that's not an option. The water pressure in the shower is okay for a couple of minutes and then reduces drastically. The information booklet also suggests allowing 15 minutes between showers to allow the water supply to restore. Since we didn't really go anywhere timing was not an issue for us, but could be for others who stay at the cabin. Just something to note. When running the dishwasher, there was not enough water to flush toilets. Also note there is a very steep downhill driveway to the cabin. Fortunately the weather was nice while we stayed so it was not an issue for us, but with snow or ice it could have been very tricky.

A wonderful weekend away!
My three best girl friends and I just spent a long weekend at Skylor’s place and had the best time! More than enough room so that everyone was comfortable, and the sauna made all the difference! We’re hoping to be back same time next year :)

Great location and views.
The location and views were great, watching the sun rise in the morning and seeing the mist on the lake. Easy to find with the GPS and only 1 1/2 hours from Minneapolis. A much needed break from the city during the pandemic.

So Amazing!
We had such a great time at the cabin - super relaxing and also so much to do on the lake. Beautiful weather - loved the bonfire pit, pontoon and the three season porch. The cabin was awesome, very homey and well equipped in the kitchen! Would definitely stay there again!!
