Chronological order - from the perspective of first time guest: - 1. entry stairs form lower level; parking were dirty 2. The presumably once magnificent parquetry floors in the reception and lift lobby areas hadn't been refionished since teh original construction. 3. Fish tank glass very dirty in reception. 4. Rooms gave nothing away - not even a free paper copy menu. 5, Resturant staff friendly to the point of being over familiar ie. when overhearing a conversation saying 'I probably came at the wrong moment. 6. Meals in main restuarant were intended to impress - but didn't pull it off - bottom shelf Wollworths asparagus was dry and not fresh. Waiting staff were over familiar and I'm a friendly guy! 7. Service crew swore as they departed the lift in earshot of my wife. 8. Ashtrays in under the main reception portico were overflowing and had not been cleaned. 9. Bath in room 240 was not clean. 10. Room 240 vanity basin had a crack right though the basin - long term issu as the crack was stained. Frankly, a pretty disappointing stay - I should have kept on driving. Michael

Care and friendliness of staff very good. Restaurant for dinner very good. Had a long uphill walk to reception from the car park in the rain. It was slippery and unsafe. Breakfast was nearly inedible and coffee had run out. Wasted our money as ended up having to go elsewhere. Mixed review but place has potential

One of the worst properties I have stayed at. Every floor surface was dirty (pool, rooms, restaurants etc). Everywhere we walked had food crumbs, dirty band-aids and wrappers. Shower didn't work properly to the point where we were using the bath tap to wash. One dining area was available for lunch. The mini bar had one small carton of milk and no actual drinks like water. When I asked reception where I could get water from for my family so we could have some in the rooms during the night, they told me to venture out to Woolworths Leura to stock up. The one shop that did offer drinks, snacks and things you may have forgotten was closed for most of the day, so unless you rushed to get there when she opened between 9:30-12pm or thereabouts you could not buy a thing on site. Just appalling. Overall, just a waste of money and should have taken my family elsewhere.

Fairmont is a great family resort with wonderful facilities for children. I would love to rate them higher, but I had a few concerns. Our hotel room was clean and basic, but the handle fell off the window when closing it and the spare blanket looked like it hadn’t been washed in months. There is very little done to remind guests to be mindful of noise levels when walking past the hotel rooms, we were consistently being woken by screaming children/parents walking past our room. Some staff were friendly, while others were not. There were inconsistencies in service delivery. Despite this, the breakfast buffet was great and the concierge staff were lovely. They deserve a shoutout for their friendliness. Overall though, I don’t think the stay was worth the money I paid.

The good: family facilities such as the train ride, indoor/outdoor kids play area The bad: the mattress, the sofa bed, the noise, cleaness. I don't mind out dated buildings and facilities. It's the molds in bathroom and the mattress quality i don't like. The mattress was so old my back hurt i couldn't sleep. My toddler slept on sofa bed which was also very very old,you hear the spring noise every movement. The door has gaps on all four sides, I could hear every single conversations and cries on the hallway. This should be a 3 star accommodation... I would love to come back only if they have proper bed and noise proof door.
