The Honeymoon Cottage is the perfect vacation rental cottage tucked in a quiet street on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. This vacation home is exactly how you would imagine a Tahoe home with wood floors, pine-covered walls, a cozy wood stove, and a quiet wooded setting. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals to share with friends and family. The kitchen shares a space with the cozy living room that is set up around the fireplace creating the perfect environment for family time. The outside area has a large deck, with built-in bench seats and a hot tub that looks onto a vacant lot next door. The upstairs has two bedrooms one with a King Bed and the other with a Queen bed, both with quality linens. There is also a second living area that is carpeted and has big comfy couches, a gas fireplace, and a TV with a DVD player and satellite dish. An Electric Vehicle charger is offered at this home for the modern day eco-traveler.
This rental cabin is centrally located for your enjoyment, a 15-minute drive will put you at Palisades Tahoe, and a 5-minute drive to Homewood Mountain Resort. A morning excursion to the Firesign Cafe which has the best breakfasts in town is highly recommended and in Summer you can walk down in the evenings for dinner on the deck at Sunnyside Resort. Not forgetting fido, Lake Tahoe is also only a few minutes away and next door to Sunnyside is a dog-friendly beach (unofficial) with lots of sticks for water play. A mile down the road to Hurricane Bay will bring you to an official dog-friendly beach which usually has lots of 4 legged friends to play with.
In Summer you can also walk down to Sunnyside Marina and hire boats, or jet skis or have some wake-board lessons, golf, restaurants, and shopping are only a couple of miles away in Tahoe City and within 30 - 45 minutes drive they are many more championship golf courses such as Coyote Moon, Incline Village and the Resort at Squaw Creek. Important, this property does not have air conditioning. Air conditioners are extremely unusual in North Lake Tahoe.
This is a dog-friendly house but in order to bring a dog, you must pay a $70 dog fee per dog, 2 dog maximum. If you bring a dog without paying the dog fee, you will be subject to a fine and are in breach of contract which could result in being asked to leave the property.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
• This is a dog-friendly house but in order to bring a dog, you must pay a dog fee per dog, 2 dog maximum. If you bring a dog without paying the dog fee, you will be subject to a fine much greater than the pet fee.
• Additional Fees include cleaning fee, administration fee, and local Transient Occupancy Tax.
• Important, this property does not have air conditioning. Air conditioners are extremely unusual in North Lake Tahoe
• Check-out is at 10 am.
• Like all of our homes, this property is VERY firmly non-smoking anywhere on the property lines.
• Please note that in the winter you will need 4-wheel drive and we always recommend you carry chains.
IMPORTANT:
On March 11th, 2022, the county of Placer implemented a new Short Term Rental Ordinance which is very important for guests to abide by. Fines range from $1,500- 5,000 and can be issued to guests who are not in compliance. A full list of rules is attached as a photo in this listing. Some Highlights include:
•Quiet hours are from 9 pm to 8 am. No noise shall be heard across property lines. No outdoor speakers or amplified sound are to be used at any time.
•Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside of a property and all pet waste needs to be picked up.
•Parking is limited to the following number of spaces: 3
POLICIES & DISCLOSURES
1. 2021 Update: Due to Extreme Fire Danger – The use of ANY outdoor firepit or fireplace is strictly prohibited at any of our rental properties. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our community safe from wildfires.
2. As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9 pm - 8 am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.
3. By local laws we have to charge a 12% occupancy tax (10% TOT tax + 2% TBID tax) with every booking. TBID is placed on lodging, retail, restaurant, and recreation businesses in North Lake Tahoe to raise money for visitor services, business support and advocacy, economic development, tourism mitigation, and transportation services.
