I preface that we stayed in the only room available over Spring Break (Queen). It was spartan to put it kindly and very much ‘budget’ accommodations.
PROS:
1) Location and convenience to all things in Red River, next to a stream that runs through town and deer were walking across the property during our stay.
2) A cool kids playground with swings and horseshoes.
3) Free hot chocolate in the office.
4) Hot tub on property
5) Microwave
6) Mini fridge
CONS:
1) In the room, the blanket was thin,
the bedding was average and the comfort of the mattress was not good. The bathroom was fine with all the soap and shampoo in wall-mounted dispensers.
The TV was a tiny 32-inch model with limited cable channels and wasn’t easy to enjoy while lying in bed.
There were no drawers for clothes. There was a small table on which to do work. Overall, it felt extremely cramped and very basic accommodations.
2) Of the 4 front desk employees we met during our stay - including the manager - I was underwhelmed by all. Having stayed in hundreds of hotels for both business and leisure travel, I know what sincere, warm customer service looks like and this wasn’t it. It was like the staff was checking the box to answer any questions and one, in particular, had almost no information for several very basic questions.
I try to be accurate and fair on my reviews and we may have enjoyed a larger room, had it been available. However, this was nothing more than a glorified crash pad
