Casita Das Andainas as been given a official licence from Tavira for tourisme rental. It is on the 2nd floor with the terrace on the 3th. Floor facing south with BBQ, 2 long chairs, table, four chairs, sink and a fridge for cold drinks. You will want to enjoy the evenings with a nice glass of wine watching the sunset and observe the fisherman coming back from the sea with their fresh catch or watch the locals play the very popular game of petanque on the square a small distance away.
The apt is divided into 1 sleeping room, furnished with a comfortable double bed and 1 bathroom with bath and bidet. The living room-kitchen is at the other end of the corridor with bay-windows overlooking the quiet street Das Andainas with her palms and other mature trees on a well kept lawn. The kitchen is well equipped for easy meals or for elaborate dinners. The owner put a special touch on the lighting to create a warm and cosy atmosphere. Casita Das Andainas is also equipped with flat-screen tv dvd/cd, books and games. And if you feel lazy you can always grab a bite across the street. You have a choice of several restaurants and snack-bars that offer the fresh catch of the day at a modest price.

The location in the eastern part of the Algarve gave us opportunity to explore the areas that are removed from the very touristy parts of the Algarveā€¦Loved the immense beaches!

Quiet Fishing Village close to Tavira
Loved the location, just 3.5 km from Tavira centre, on the top floor of a three story condo building, in the quiet fishing village of Santa Luzia. There is only one tourist shop with hand made ceramic seaside themed ornaments but Tavira is close by and has lots of shops. AND, in Santa Luzia there must be 30 places to either eat or drink and four of them are within 100 m of the front door. Our suite was as advertised and our hostess, Michelle, went out of her way to pick us up in Tavira on our check-in day. The suite was well equipped and included basic condiments and toilet paper and paper towels. It was great to have internet and satelite TV. We found the bed very comfortable. Michelle made sure we knew how to operate the various appliances and, if we needed them, manuals were kept handy. We enjoyed the roof top terrace and the view of the water. A little updating of the drapery and table linens wouldn't hurt but the suite was clean and we had no complaints. As with everywhere in Portugal there is a resident in the building with a dog that barked a lot but there's nothing Michelle can do about that. After a while we got used to it. Overall, a very good experience.

Enjoyable stay
Apartment is quite basic but comfortable. Good kitchen facilities and bed was good. Shower was good but we found stepping into the bath a bit of a pain. Living area quite dark due to the trees outside but thankfully with the wonderful weather and roof terrace we weren't inside much. Dog on the ground floor a pain and even though the owner assured us it would not bite we weren't convinced. overall we had a lovely month and enjoyed the local food.

Lovely apartment
This is a compact and tidy apartment, with everything you need as a couple. The kitchen area is well equipped - we ate in for three of the seven nights we spent here. The roof terrace area is just wonderful, spectacular views over the Ria Formosa and plenty of room for having breakfast, evening drinks or just soaking up the rays! The location is ideal, on the Tavira side of Santa Luzia, which is a lovely quiet fishing village, but one with a number of good restaurants (we recommend Vincents!) Michelle was an excellent host - easy to communicate with and very helpful. There is a slight issue with the electricity tripping, but we found that as long as we were careful not use too many other appliances when the oven was in use, we didn't have a problem. Thanks Michelle.

Overall it was nice and Michelle came to the bus station to pick us up which was appreciated. We had an issue with the outside key trying to get back in after we went to the grocery store. I tried everything to no avail, neighbours were helpful and after an hour or so the owners friend came by. I had tried to reach the owner but was not successful. The friend called the owner and reached her right away. Turns out the key needed to be ā€œjiggledā€ a little. After taking to the owner she expressed she should have told us that. We had no other key issues afterwards. Just be aware of that and ask about it. Also be mindful with having too much plugged in or the breaker will trip. The owner did explain this to me but l still tripped the breaker, l had the mini split on for heat and had turned on a small heater in the bathroom because it was cold. Other than these issues, itā€™s a very nice apartment and has a lovely place up on the rooftop to lounge and has a lovely lovely view up there. Lastly itā€™s like 4 euros to take an Uber onto Travira and Travira is amazinggggg. This was a good probe for this apparent no doubt.

One Week Stay
The owners were exceptional. When I arrived, they met me at the train station and took me to a grocery store to buy some provisions before taking me to the rental. When I was unable to arrange a taxi to take me back to the train station, they picked me up at a very early hour and took me back to the train station so I could depart on time. Well above and beyond the call of duty!

The whole process of renting this apartment was went very smoothly. Excellent communication with the owner. The apartment we very clean and comfortable and my only complaint was with the owner of the noisy dog on the ground floor. Santa Luzia is a very good base for a holiday in this area. Lovely apartment in superb Santa Luzia
We stayed here for a month in June/July. The apartment is situated at the end of Santa Luzia on the way out to Tavira, the nearest larger town, on a quiet street. There are 4 restaurants on the immediate block and loads more less than 5 mins walk away on the waterfront and backstreets of Santa Luzia. The waterfront is picture postcard perfection. The apartment itself is on the second floor and has one bedroom with a large comfortable double bed and loads of storage space. A well equipped bathroom with a shower over the bath. A living room with a 32 inch LCD TV and satellite TV, a superbly efficient air conditioning unit, a sofa bed and a dining table for 4 people. The kitchen is superbly equipped with everything you could need pot, pans, crockery and utensil wise. There is an induction hob and electric fan oven, a large fridge with a smaller freezer on top and a washing machine. There is also a coffee machine, electric juicer, stick blender, kettle and a toaster. We needed for nothing during our month here. There is a wonderful roof terrace accessed by one flight of steps right outside our flat with 2 sun loungers with padded seating, a table with 4 chairs, a sink and a BBQ. The view from up there of the ferry to the beach and the fishing trawlers going out each evening with a backdrop of the Ria Formosa and the Atlantic was simply magical. It was so peaceful up there. There is plentiful free parking on the street outside. There are small supermarkets in Santa Luzia but also an many in nearby Tavira. The nearest is Lidl 5 minutes away by car. Our host Michelle is super easy to deal with by phone, email or WhatsApp and will assist you, in the unlikely event you have any problems, with anything you may need or have issues with quickly. In fact we had issues with the wifi broadband and it transpired we had used up the monthly allowance of data in our first week here streaming tennis. We were unaware of there being a cap. Michelle looked into the issue of buying more data, which we said we would of course pay for, and ended up upgrading us to faster and unlimited wifi within 48 hours. Amazing service above and beyond our expectation for which we were and are still exceptionally grateful. This part of the Algarve coast is utterly beautiful and unspoilt. We have already booked to return not only to this area next year but also to Michelle's apartment as it has everything we need from a vacation home. Thank you Michelle and Willem

Well equipped property in a perfect Location
We were welcomed by Michelleā€™s husband who showed us everything we needed to know about in the well equipped apartment. The apartment is compact but fine for 2 people and the roof terrace has chairs, table and loungers with cushions and an umbrella is kept in the apartment. It is in a perfect position a short walk to the promenade with views across the river to the sea. There are numerous restaurants and cafe bars. It is only 5 minutes drive to Tavira which is a lovely historic town. We intend to visit again.

Winter away from the cold
We spent 2 months at the condo and had a lovely time. The property is exactly as pictured. Dealing with Michelle was very easy especially considering Covid we had to delay a year, she was very understanding. We would book the condo again when we return to Santa Luzia.

Lovely and well located apartment
The apartment was as pictured and described, with a lovely peaceful roof balcony and a good kitchen. Communication with Michelle was excellent and the location is ideal; no need for a car as restaurants and a supermercado are nearby. A great base for exploring Tavira and the surrounding area.

Perfect for a relaxing holiday . A beautiful location
Great contact with Michelle and Wilhem . Our only disappointment was that in website it states there was a hot tub on roof terrace but that was not the case . The apartment is great and everything and more that you need . Our first visit to Portugal and wonā€™t be our last .

Santa luzia is a lovely relaxing town.
The apartment is in a nice situation but is in need of up-date. A background heating system would make a difference as we experience the place to be extremely cold. I 'm sorry to say I feel it was dirty, it was not up to a standard I would expect. The appliances all need replacing.

A good place to relax, enjoy the sun and the views!
Michelle was very friendly and welcoming, contactable before and throughout our stay and willing to help and answer our questions, for example translating a message left on our car that they were going to resurface the road! She even suggested an alternative parking space! The apartment was comfortable and had all the facilities that we needed, the only slight drawback was that there was no direct access to the roof terrace. However this small inconvenience was more than compensated for by the view, refrigerator, sink, barbeque and comfortable sun beds. The apartment is within easy walking distance of the harbour, restaurants and a couple of small supermarkets, the larger supermarkets are 10 minutes away by car in Tavira. Barril Beach on Ihla de Tavira, accessed by ferry or by a pedestrian bridge at Pedras de El-Rei and then a mini train ride and Manta Rota Beach, further away towards the Spanish Border, are highly recommended as they are mainly unspoilt and large so that there is plenty of room for everyone Thank you for providing the place for the rest and relaxation we needed
