The views! Quiet but close to town.
Fabulous stay at Glen Chass Farmhouse! The ocean views, farm fields, sheep, cattle, pheasants and walking trails along with close proximity to town sold us (5 mature adults) on this property. The amazing artwork and books that fill this home with color and details were appreciated! The owners live adjacent and are very educated, well traveled and interesting people who are available for any questions, concerns or just a cup of coffee/tea for a chat if desired but will keep their distance if you wish to be left alone. (I really enjoyed getting to know them, and to me that was a positive factor!) Because portions of this home are hundreds of years old, there are additions made over time, with proper updates throughout. Due to this the kitchen ceiling and doorway are shorter than other rooms so if you’re taller than 6’2” watch your head there. Our two 6’1” men had no issues. The gardens are fabulous and note the hand places mosaics in the driveway and gardens. If you like walking/hiking be sure to walk past the end of the lane, taking the pathway up the hill and past the old Chasm Cafe to see the ancient Neolithic stone circle remnants. Watch for seals playing along the shoreline too. But dodge the dung, and be sure to take your shoes off when entering the house (host request). It was great to be able to have windows and the upper half of the door open on sunny days too! Very narrow lane up to it, but don’t be scared. I would definitely stay at Glen Chass Farmhouse again!
