Just a one night stay room basic but comfortable short on electric plugs but inexpensive convenient for the flower show at Newbury Hall.Evening meal was very good and so was breakfast both were very good value for money and the hosts were very friendly and attentive.

A lovely break (3 nights) was enjoyed here, Host was great informing us of all we needed to know. I liked the idea of choosing what breakfast option you wanted, even if that meant deciding the night before. Typical Pub arrangement where a number of steps were encountered and therefore not for the immobile i would suggest. Good value.

Lovely old village inn
Very friendly and welcoming. Great home cooked food both dinner and breakfast. Good size room and comfy bed. Proper old village pub. Very creaky floors! Could do with a little up-dating but a lovely place to stay.

Only spent 1 night here, lovely beer garden at back of pub, full of flowers. Olde worlde pub, quaint. We stayed for our evening meal , I had the fish pie with veg, and my husband had the steak pie and chips, which were delicious. You have to go to the bar for your drinks. Everyone was very friendly. Happy with our room, as it was hot there was a fan to use. Bed a bit soft for us. Maybe take a torch for during the night as it was very dark! We stayed for breakfast, Ā£10 each for full English with orange juice, tea or coffee and toast and jam. Very good value, would recommend.

Quiet location and remote, had trouble getting taxis in and out of Thursk. Chris was so helpful with taxi numbers. He was a hive of information all round. The Hotel rooms were lovely and clean but a bit dated, but that wouldnā€™t stop me from returning. The food here is exceptional, from a full English to the evening meal. Although this is a pub, please be aware that it doesnā€™t open till 5pm and thatā€™s every day. Besides that it was a lovely stay. Very small and friendly village. Thank you Chris & Bev.

spent two nights here.old fashioned country pub with loads of character.had breakfast and evening meal,both were absolutely fine.lovely yorkshire hospitality.i would definitely recomend staying here.

A real Yorkshire village pub with friendly staff and very pleasant food. Rooms were comfortable if very slightly dated but vastly preferable to the usual anonymous hotel. I would stay again.

A quaint village inn we picked due to its proximity to A1 to break our journey from Scotland. The building is showing signs of age, but the owners have created a pleasant comfortable environment and a busy pub for locals.Breakfast and evening meal were good,

Great traditional country pub with wonderful food.
This is a wonderful old village pub with excellent food, great service and a larger than life Landlord. We stayed one night here, were made very welcome and enjoyed the great choices of dishes for our evening meal before a roaring log fire. The Whitby Scampi and chips followed by traditional 'Spotted Dick and custard was served very quickly and was delicious. The small bar was busy with locals and folk staying at the pub and it was a very friendly atmosphere. Our room was fairly small but clean,warm, with a kettle and hairdryer, TV and was en-suite. The bed was quite comfortable but the mattress could do with replacing as it was slightly dished at the centre. Breakfast was served in the dining room and was quickly served. Nothing was too much trouble and was served by the Landlord who was a mine of information. I would heartily recommend this pub.
