Last minute booking due to delayed flight overnight. The fact the hotel is in the airport and next to the security channel to go to departures is amazing bonus. Room perfect for a quick stay.

A sleep pod, not a hotel room, with a stinky bathroom you’d expect in an old camper. We were a family of four travelling and booked a family room (king bed plus bunk beds) for a layover in Gatwick. The room turned out to be not much more than a small sleep pod, barely big enough for the four of us and our bags with a “wet room” bathroom that wasn’t much bigger than a powder room or camper bathroom which wreaked like a mold / mildew. The bathroom was ultra small with the ingenious idea of having the shower unenclosed so using it would leave the entire bathroom (toilet included) dripping wet. Not ideal for four people to share. Drenched soggy towels galore, and no where to put them. Bathroom door and wall panel was frosted glass, so no privacy and additionally anyone using it would wake up the others with the bathroom light shining through into the main sleeping pod area. The room was posted as having a king bed, but it wasn’t a king bed. The room did not have conventional light switches. Instead there was a single control panel located by the main bed’s side table that controlled all lights and a/c. So if someone wanted to turn on the bathroom light, in the middle of the night they had to go around the corner and turn it on/off, more likely to disturb others that are slumbering or trip over the bags that take up the only small amount of floor space available. I prefer the old school light switch on the wall in the bathroom or at the door.

Good location
Can’t store your luggage so it’s 15 quid downstairs at the airport. Hotel is in a perfect location for catching a flight. Room was clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable but really annoyed me that there was no usb plug, just an English socket, which meant on the last day of my trip in the Uk I had to buy a converter as every other hotel I stayed at had a usb socket. I didn’t like the wet room concept but expected it. It’s ok for one night/ one person.
